My Anniversary Coupons

Post by HobbesACW »

Hi folks, if I look in My Anniversary Coupons I can see a 44% coupon from 2018.
It doesn't seem to work when I try and purchase a game. I assume they become invalid after
a certain amount of time?

If not maybe I have already used it? Should it still show if invalid or already used?

Thanks,
Chris

I was able to use this year a coupon issued to me in 2019.

I think that they are only supposed to be good for 30 days.

Thanks folks. But two very different answers!

P.S. do the coupons stay in your My Anniversary Coupons display if you have used them?
Is there any indication if they are still valid or not?

Anniversary Coupons

We like to reward our loyal fans and we've come up with a great way to do that. Now, just by being a member of the community you can get up to 50% off your purchases in the store! All you need to do is create an account on the forum and your discount will start building up! Remember to use a valid email address as the coupons will be sent to this address!

How it Works
On the Anniversary of the date you register with us you'll get your coupon! This date will be either the date you set up your forum account on Slitherine or Matrix, or the date you registered your first game with us. If you play any PBEM++ games, it could be the first time you logged in to multiplayer, as this automatically registers your serials.
On the Anniversary you'll receive a mail that links you to the coupon generator which is built in to the http://samelogin.slitherine.com system.

The registration date is take in this priority:
1. The date you registered for the Matrix members area.
2. If you never registered for the Matrix members area, the date you registered for the Matrix forum.
3. If you never did either of the above then the date you registered for the Slitherine site, forum or first played a PBEM++ game.

When Will I receive My Coupon?
To check when your Anniversary coupon will be sent go to [My Account]

How Do I Use My Coupon?
The coupon can only be used in the Slitherine, Matrix & Ageod stores. To use your coupon, add items to your shopping cart as normal and on the checkout page enter your coupon. Your coupon will expire 30 days after it is generated so make sure you use it quick!

Why Do I get a Coupon?
Because you're great and we really appreciate you being a member of the community. You don't need to do anything other than have an account with us to get one, though the longer you've been with us and the more games you register the higher your discount will be!

I Didn't get a Coupon!
If you think you should have had a coupon then check your Anniversary date at [My Account]. If that looks ok, then check the email address that the account is linked to and check there is no typo in the email address. If that looks ok, check your spam filter to make sure it was not removed. Finally check that you have not opted out of receiving the coupons here [Anniversary Coupons List]. If that all looks fine you can resend your coupon here [Request New Email].

My Coupon Doesn't Work
The coupons have been thoroughly tested so it's unlikely the coupon is really not working. Carefully check you have entered the coupon correctly. Make sure there are no leading or training spaces when you enter it. Remember the coupon can only be used once, so don't share it with a friend or you won't be able to use it! If you're sure you've done everything right then contact support and they'll help you work out the problem.

I've Lost My Coupon!
Don't worry, you can just look up your coupon again by going to [Anniversary Coupons List].

I Don’t Want Your Coupon!
No problems! We know not everyone likes to receive mails so if you don’t want to receive a coupon just unsubscribe here [Unsubscribe].

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask! Make sure you let you friends know as we want to send out as many of these as we can to reward our loyal fans!

Mine certainly didn't expire in 30 days...so..there is that.

Best is to ask customer supply via email address I provided. It is same that you get via page's HELP section above.

Note that what zakblood quoted is from 2016 and that was quite different times.

I just looked at mine, I did not take a picture of it. But I thought that it expired in 30 days . . .

Thanks folks. It seems then that there is only 30 days to use a coupon. To save confusion it would be good to show that a coupon is no longer valid.

Thanks for the help.

Yea, we all might have different experiences, but I did check that I managed to use my 2019 coupon on Combat Mission Shock Force 2: NATO Forces in June 2021 (not 2022 as I claimed, just checked).

I have only used anniversary coupons twice, one for Combat Mission Shock Force 2 (gotten that coupon in 2021) and older for DLC as above.

Best to check from Customer Support, since policies might have changed.

I just bought Southern Storm at full price. I'm happy really to give the devs the cash as it looks like a great game. I would be interested to know though how long coupons are valid for. With many wise old hands on here it seems surprising that we don't know for sure. Also it seems a bit of a lottery. If the coupons only last for 30 days it would be a matter of luck if a game you wanted was released just after you recieved a coupon. I wasn't really expecting a 2018 coupon to be still valid but it seems it might have been?

The email for mine specifically said "valid 30 days from nov 1". Made good use of it, getting Southern Storm and the new WITE 2 DLC.

Hi Hobbes, glad you are still around.

Have you made any scenarios or AARs since those early days with Ageod?

Best wishes

Re: My Anniversary Coupons

I've gotten an Anniversary Coupon every year for the past 6 years, until now. I get every other Matrix/Slitherine email they send, I don't have their emails blocked, but somehow not this years coupon email. I've put in a service ticket a week ago and it still hasn't been resolved. In order to not just present a problem, I do have a solution to suggest: Why not just post the coupon to the 'My Anniversary Coupons' under the 'My Page' on the website? Why should you need to respond to an email, that apparently one cannot get for whatever reason (perhaps flagged by the email client as malicious), in order to activate the coupon?

If Slitherine/Matrix is concerned about security of the coupon in the "My Anniversary Coupons" portion of the 'My Page' then they should have a bigger concern that all my items there (currently 116 products) has the installers and the license keys. The coupons expire in a month, and they can still send people a email asking them to check their "My Page" for their coupon. Apparently the coupon won't appear there until you click the hyper link in the email.

I have about a week left until my anniversary is over, and I usually send Slitherine/Matrix a lot of business this time of year. I can only hope it gets resolved in time. I appreciate that the company does this, they are not required to do so.

I don't recall having to do anything to activate the coupon. I just saved the coupon code and then copy/pasted it when Southern Storm became available Nov. 17 and I bought it.

I also didn't know that the coupons were recorded in the My Page section until I read the email before mine.

It seems like Matrix is taking care of us by providing a backup method if for some reason the coupon doesn't get through email.

Unfortunately, the coupon doesn't appear on 'My Page' until either you use it, or I assume activate it. No email, no coupon.

But to confuse things more, I set up a purchase of a game I had no intention of buying and plugged in old coupon codes, and my 2017 coupon rang me up a 47% discount after 22, 21, 20, 19, and 18 were rejected as already having been used. I don't intend to use it, but it does appear that old unused coupon codes will still work.
