Air Supply to Canadians

Post by canuckgamer »

I had a Canadian unit out of supply but within air supply range of a UK air unit. However the air supply icon was not active on the Canadian unit whereas it was for an adjacent UK ground that was also in range. I assume that this because UK air units cannot air supply Canadian units.
Since Canadian ground units can be moved by UK transports and use UK landing craft maybe this should be changed so that UK air can air supply them as well.
I'm wondering if a Canadian paratrooper can be transport by UK air for a drop?

Honestly Canadian units should just be merged into UK units, like South Africa, Australia, etc

If you go on the production window of a minor, you will see that minors that do build oilers and air transport keep them instead of giving them to their major power (they have a number, not a " - "). For those two "units" minors do act as major power (so Canadians, Spaniards, Romanian, Turks etc. would indeed need their own air transport for whatever air transport are needed for, and those transport could not be used by their major power). They are like major power but only for those two assets.

For oilers it is not so bad as they can be used to replenish a fleet as long as one naval unit in the fleet is the same nationality as the oiler.

Taking care of minors is one of my guilty pleasures in the game...

Why make those two the exceptions when Canadians use UK transports, landing ships, and supply trucks? The Canadians have limited production, manpower and logistics so other than an HQ and a couple of infantry corps I use their production to build MM's and escorts.
I can only see building a air transport if you build a Canadian paratrooper corps. HIstorically the Canadians only had a paratroop battalion that dropped on D-Day.
