Flag/marker for main spaceport needed

Post by fruitgnome »

I have a spaceport, where the build rate is the best, but I can't build there fleets by the fleets template because there are not enough resources. On other spaceports I can build these fleets.

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Are you suggesting a system for prioritizing specific spaceports for construction over others?

There's already an in-game system in place when you choose to build a fleet from a template where you can decide to build it anywhere in the empire or at a specific spaceport. Do you find the system not giving you sufficient control of where you want your fleets built?

My 2 cents - what we need is a better way to manage logistics and target resource levels. As is, there is per location (base/colony) list of resources with target levels we can edit. But this is very cumbersome in an empire beyond the initial stages, and doesn't really give any sense of where that base falls in prioritization of logistics.

E.g. is a simply higher target level mean that location is also higher priority that others (perhaps because it has a larger deficit?)? Or are there other factors - like proximity to mines, local colony size, spaceport level, etc. Without more knowledge (and in game communication) on the question of priority, it doesn't really matter if we can order ships per shipyard, as our preferred shipyard may not have the resources to start.

Suggestion:
1. A menu, similar to those in logistics, which sort pending resource orders to locations by their weight - what is the logistics system prioritizing. Filter by location (see all resources order for a single spot, ranked), resource (per location, ranked), and some type of weighed rank by location (on average, which spaceport has the highest rank in new orders).
2. Provide ability to macro nudge the priority of some spaceports over others - the information in (1) is needed to understand how the base system ranks orders by location. But what if I want to encourage more, eg to increase location (A) from being lowest to highest ranked? I think this is similar to the "flag" suggestion above.
3. Provide a way to mass edit orders per location - eg if I want to batch increase the target quantity of all items at a spaceport by +100, or set them all to 20k, etc. Last I tried this is possible, but required line by line editing.

I have a spaceport, where the build rate is the best, but I can't build there fleets by the fleets template because there are not enough resources. I mean this spaceport is not in the list because there are to less resources. There are many spaceports listet but not the one with the best build rate because of missing resources on this colony/spaceport.

I played a lot, but was not aware that there is a "build rate". Where can I check it and could you elaborate a little bit about it? Up to now I focused on getting bigger space stations and better construction yards to improve building fleets.

Hover over the construction yards in the ui. There will be a popup with informations like build rate.

You can look at the "construction yards" overview. There you can see that spaceports are all the same, quite good speed. Only really big planets become better as they gain population, and that usually means the capital. Since this one also gets all the resources first, I don't understand how they can be missing there but not somewhere else?

Shipyard facility improves the build rate on one colony and the spaceport of this colony.
