What could these immobile units mean

there is a BMP-1 company conducting an amphibious assault in the middle of a river and all its vehicles are destroyed or fallen out, but there are 3 infantry units remain undamaged.
With all the amphibious vehicles unable to work, they stay in the middle of the river for the rest of the game. If you order the to move, a pop message will tell you "The order for 2/2/10.msp could not be implemented due to impassable terrain on the planned route."
I think it's a ridiculous scene: three squads of soldiers just keep still and floating in the water for more than 2 hours. I think whether they should be dead or make their way to get ashore(maybe with all munition lost)

Dead or fallouts. We still need to discuss internally on that. EIther way not stranded in the water.
