War in the Pacific (Original) Did anyone every try?...

Post by Sorivar »

One of the things that I hate most is when the Japanese carriers change their air groups to have more fighters, more useless dive bombers and they cut down on their most effective thing which is the aerial torpedo via a Kate, Jill or Grace.

Is there a way avoid this upgrade? Going from 24 torpedo planes to 18 is criminal! The torpedo bomber is simply the most effective Japanese aircraft when you don't Midway your carriers!

And while I know that historically something like this did happen, I don't want it! :(

Makes petulant child face.

I was able to stow a carrier's air group in a minor base with a level 1 airfield prior to the carrier getting its much needed (and sadly not very useful flak refit) and the air group didn't change. But when I disbanded the refitted carrier's task group, the change happened.

Thanks if anyone has a clue about this.

I hate to break this to you, but this is likely the wrong forum for that question. Unless there has been a radical change in the game engine I don't think Strategic Command WW2: War in the Pacific will be featuring resizable air groups composed of individual Kates, Graces or Jills.

You may be thinking of Gary Grigsby's War in the Pacific--
