Soviet artillery question

Hello,

Id like to know how to use Artillery divisions/brigades in the Red Army. What exactly am I supposed to do with these ? Should I just attack an enemy division with these as I would any other divisions, should I just leave these on reserve ? Or what ?

I'd say you can treat them as if they were big attachable SUs. But instead of attaching them to a Division, you place them in the Hex behind your frontline and add them to the battle (using the Shift system for multi-Hex attacks), since they will shoot from 1 Hex distance.
