Yes too much work again - wait and see ... coming soon

I will post the big ships that have been added to see if anyone has any comments on authenticity. I welcome your comments, too.

Interesting concept but I like clarification as the image of a Rodney class BB is wrong. Here what it did look like. However it was build under the 1922 Washingtom treaty with the ship being altered from it's original design. Your image looks like that, the G3 battlecruiser class. So I'm assuming the scenario will ignore this treaty.

Thanks for the input. Yes agree on your image but no, we are looking at this as N3 —built instead of Nelson / Rodney. I used the names as they seemed appropriate, and those original ships were treaty compromises.

G3 BC I dropped from the game as RN retains 2 x Admiral class (Hood). There needs to be a limit. the focus (before the treaty effect in, say, 1939/40) is distorted to very heavy guns in the BB in this mod.

https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/r ... &FORM=VIRE

I modified the treaties to allow so many treaty cruisers into the game, but I allowed Treaty BB to start appearing very late, about 30/40.

I tinkered a bit but its toward this. See if it reads ok...Mod will be out in a day or so.

Historical Context for Scn 50+51 V1.0 “Age of Steel”.
The Treaties of 1925 and 1933 found agreement on cruisers and finally stopped the building of new battleships until 1938, when 2 Ships of up to 35,000 mt per nation could be built each year for the next 5 years with guns not exceeding 14”, but no older ships need to be scrapped. The USA, in recession, fails to complete these ships in time before the treaties are set aside for good and resumes these ships with 16-inch guns (Washington and North Carolina). And so interest in Naval aviation and aircraft development remains low, but two new carriers per nation in excess of 20,000 can be built from 1937, and experimental and lightships in commission remain. The final Treaty would be set aside entirely in 1939, but many Treaty Battleships had already been laid down, and Japan secretly laid down the first 20-inch gunned battleships. With newer aircraft appearing- New Carriers were rapidly laid down by all sides in 1939… This is the Age of Steel!
Ships out CV = Akagi, Kaga, Lexington, Saratoga and Wasp (Treaty allowed Conversions or Treaty ship).
Ships out BB = Nelson and Rodney, now N3 Class.
Japan Ships in = 4 X No.13 Class 18”, Akagi and Kaga (Amagi Class 16”), Improved Yamato class 20” x 2 close to completion and 2 to build. 2 X Hokkaido class 14” BC.
Allies Ships in = 4 x South Dakota Class 16 ”BB, Lexington and Saratoga as Constellation class 16” BC. 4 X N3 Class 18” BB, Aged BB - 4 x Iron Duke Class 13.5” BB plus Agincourt 12”.
Longer delays on treaty BB and new CV.

Odd old lady - a survivor of the RN. Ridiculous but kind cool at the same time.

The real deal—Yamato follows on from this reckless building and expansion... with 51cm guns! I hope you like it. This is the final development of the BB in this alternative scn. It feels kind of plausible given the parameters of the mod.

I am trying to get the final checks done today - work pressures allowing.

I was expecting a few folks to comment on the armour etc - it seems like I have been convincing, so no need to change or consider changing. Nice.

The main things I am looking at are Treaty BB arrivals to make sure they feel reasonably plausible ( slightly later) . There are just a few more things to check, and the development of naval aviation is marginally later —just a touch. This will mean 1941—mid-42 should be the "Age of Steel".

Remember, the foundation is the Empire mod. It will be two zips each of three Scn, two of the original and the other the Age of Steel. the other set is the same but will be for the ultra-big map - a few players seem to like that.

I estimate we have about four games underway just now, mainly recorded on the Discord site.

A new patch is coming - I made a mistake in one of the drop-down menus in the editor that caused an issue with one Japanese engine- we are testing now, and then I will publish.

Sorry
