Decisive Campaigns-Ardennes Offensive-Plan Martin-5th Armored Division

Post by jbroshot »

We've been playing the Plan Martin scenario for the past several weeks, and are now on December 19,1944, 18:00 turn. All of the units of the US 5th Armored Division on the NE Allied front started the game fixed (no movement points) and they are all still fixed and cannot move. They have had German units adjacent for the past several turns. Is this intended by the designers or is there a bug in the scenario?
Thanks

Thanks for reporting !
The 5th Armored Division remained in 12th Army Group reserve throughout the Ardennes Campaign, perhaps to recover from Hurtgen's losses but more likely was held in reserve for fear of an unexpected German surprise attack.
So I set the availability for december 24th but i don't set the activation trigger in case of contact with enemy unit.

I fixed the automatic activation trigger to 1hex (enemy contact).

If you want here is latest updated beta version of Plan Martin (1.47e)
(unfortunately we have to restart the game with the new scenario to have the changes)

Thanks for the prompt answer and the fix. Alas, I don't think we are going to restart this game.

I would point out that 5th Armored Division's positions in this game are mostly in the front line.

Yes indeed I also moved the units of the 5th AD one hex away from the frontline.

99% busy with DC5alpha, happy to see some feedback for DC4ardennes to fine tuning the scenarios!
