Creating a Folder for my Map Project and Extracting FC Presets

Post by Lynx57 »

Hello everyone, I would like to try to create a map with your moding guide. On page 11, FM07 Map construction, it says to copy 3 subfolders: '_qgis_elevation_styles', '_qgis_print_composer_templates' and '_qgis_vector_styles'.

But where do I go to copy them into my project directory?

Thank you in advance for your explanations

I'll alert William to this question. Hopefully, the Mod doc is not missing info or wrong, but I have been known to make mistakes at times.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

These folders do not necessarily go into the project folder. Whenever you need a style or template, you can simply browse to that folder from QGis.
I have these three subfolders sitting next to the project folders.

Thanks William,

ok i m going step by step

on 5.3

" QGis gave the area_boxes layer a default style (green uniform fill). We are only interested in the box's only, so let's change the style. In the Layers panels, select the area_boxes layer. Use right mouse button, select Properties, then select the Style tab. Using the "Style" button at the bottom, Load Style, and select the "editing_style_areabox.qml" style from the presets we installed previously in our project folder. "

I dont have installed style , where could i find them ?
In the core game ?

The _qgis_vector_styles folder contains that style.

Apologies, the manual is referring to a sample QGis project and files which aren't part of the game, and didn't come with the manual.
I'll see if I can upload the sample project and files to this forum, or provide a link if I need to upload them elsewhere.
