Exploit or no. You decide

Post by M60A3TTS »

Years ago, I remember Telemecus in our multi-player WiTE game at one point ran like 800+ recon missions against a single hex to draw the Soviet fighters into a killing field. I can't help but wonder how dissimilar this one is.

I wouldn't have too much of a problem living with it if the interface allowed me to at least see what air units were committed. Of course what we only ever see is the recon values and no ability to drill down into any details.

Oh well...that many escorts being allowed is frankly kind of silly. I assume that he had his recon escort setting cranked to 300% so technically it's all legal.

I vote no exploit.

WITE1s air war was IGOUGO within the the ground phase. So it was possible to spam missions until you could tell that the opposition was out of fuel/ammo and then cause lots of damage.

I'm not really sure what the difference is between setting up a mission like this one and a bog standard air superiority mission with 300 fighters. Are defending forces more likely to try and intercept recon missions?

If he is committing 300 fighters in one area then there are going to be gaps in his air coverage elsewhere and that is where I'd move my air forces rather than flying them in bad odds situations.

YMMV

All you can say that it is 300 Sorties, it could be 150x2Planes or 10x30Planes, you can't tell with how Recon AD Reports work.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's just that there will be times when it isn't practical.

That was an exploit and AFAIR Dominic blocked that in one of the later updates by limiting the missions vs a single hex
