In-flight refueling

Post by bladesinger79 »

Ok, I must be a darned idiot.

In several scenarios, I want to refuel fighters in flight. For a flight of two fighters, F-16s and F-15s, I would click on the flight to conduct a a refuel. I get the gas can image, I place this icon on a tanker and click. The flight will head to the tanker as ordered. Once they get there, they don't do anything. The get into position, then break off as if they can't refuel no matter how many times I click on refuel.

I tried this with different types of tankers, no joy. I check my Side Doctrines to ensure I can do this. Settings are:

Refuel: Always Except for tankers refueling tankers...check box
Refuel Selection: Pick nearest...check box
Refuel Allies: Yes...check box
Fuel State: Bingo 30%...check box

Something's not going as it should. Any suggestions?

Without looking at it, check the type of refueling. Boom vs Drogue. I have seen several people bitten by that with allied aircraft. USAF is mostly boom while most allies are drogue.

The tankers were boom. All of them were USAF tankers.

I just told the F-16s south of the tanker to refuel. They immediately headed to the tanker and refueled with no issue. Are you using 1706?
