Getting this game is impractical for me!

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

Getting this game is impractical for me!

Post by Count Bobby »

1) I have a slow connection, making downloading a large file a pain!
2) I realize I could order the CD, but it´s significantly more expensive, and takes a long time. [:(]
3) And I don´t use credit cards. (In continental Europe, some people still prefer cash only.)

I like what I see, but I can´t even start describing how much I´d prefer a boxed version!

I downloaded the game using dial-up...it took 12 hours. I just waited to download it before I went to bed. [>:]

Not sure if you can get by without using a credit card though. [&:]

Please check all the possibilities we offer to pay. you´re by far not limited to credit cards [;)]

From the "Customer Service" page in the E-Store:

"In addition to Credit Cards, we accept Checks, Money Orders and Wire Transfers.
If you choose to pay by Check, Money Order or Wire Transfer select the appropriate payment method on the payment page, and directions will be provided to you after you have fully submitted your order."

Actually yes, but he is not that online savvy, so I´d rather not do that. [:D]

Ok, thanks, but it´s still somewhat impractical to actually get the game. (1&2, above)

I am not perfectly happy with 'virtual only' distribution. Count my vote against that becoming a trend. [:'(]

How can this not be the wave of the future? This is my first time, and if the game works out, it won't be the last.

I love digital download. You can get the game immediately and don't have to wait for the store to stock it. The only problem with it, and other online shopping, is that I am going to end up looking like Blucher from sitting on my butt all day.[:D]

Pah. I want a printed manual. A Pdf file is not the same. And I don´t want to pay extra for the CD, of course.

Must admit I printed it off and stapled it with a heavy duty stapler. Like a lot of people I can't read lengthy documents on a computer screen. Its 37 pages long though so best to think before printing especially if its not your printer.[:-]
