Skirmish mode?

A turn-based, simultaneous-play wargame with a classic 3D miniatures feel and a two non-linear historical campaigns.

Skirmish mode?

Post by Ilthuain »

Will there be an option to play against the AI using custom forces?

i.e., could I play Gaul vs. an AI Rome?

Although I know it may be disappointing, we have not had time to properly balance this capability. Therefore, in single player, you will only be allowed to play as the Romans. In multiplayer, you will be able to play either side.

Just to explain why this is no simple task. Creating a winnable yet fun level is probably the hardest thing to achieve for any tactical war game -- especially given the fact that players have various skill levels and strategies. To balance that AI both ways on a level requires double the amount of effort for each level. So, that leaves you with a question: do I reduce the number of battles to get the game out on time so players go play either side, or, do I support more levels that are playable by one side only. At Koios Works, we have decided that having the completle collection of battles for Julius Caesar was better than just doing the Galic War or the Civil War.
