What the BG REALLY needs...

Clean up the PBEM interface - it is a mess, and that is the only *real* way to play these games.

What would really be nice is a replacement of the UGOIGO sustem with a WEGO system...

That would be nice alright, but I don't know how feasible it would be, because you'd surely need an additional layer of AI to handle the on-the-fly decision making.

On a more superficial level, I would like to have "rotatable" maps, even if only in 90-degree steps. It's probably the chess player in me coming out, but I do prefer playing "up the board".

I think your basicaly talking about a completely recoded game engine there. So just buy Black Powder wars when it comes out if you want Wego.

psynnott,
Yes it would be nice if the map could be rotated at least 90 degrees. if for no other reason than ocasionaly you can not tell if a slope on the back of a contour is a cliff or not.

If you are near Medford Oregon Check out,

Yes, as a french commander at Waterloo, I would really like to see what is on the other side of that slope, just behind Hougoumont and La Haye Sainte!! [:D]
