Safest Path?

Post by JudgeDredd »

I thought I would ask you seasoned Panther tester boys about this. I gave the highlighted unit (1.433) an order to move, via safest ropute, to the bridge to the south to try and disrupt supplies. It's a bit of a futile move as one unit against the number they have will probably be inneffectual...however, my question is with the route the unit choose.

Seems to me this unit could have gone left, through the woods and used the covered route. Any ideas why it would choose a route right next to a busy MSR?

I've just noticed this unit has 189 infantry and 5 non-AFVs...so is this the result of mixed movement? (I'm still reading the manual....just as I'm playing)...also it is using the foot movement table and the figure is 15.

Thx

Dredd,

Isn't that terrain you are in and near marsh/swamp? I would think leg units would get very tired sloggin' through all that plus the cover wouldn't be all that great. Of course I've only played with the map editor and a few minutes with the Tut so I could be wrong.

These are swamps. The computing of routes seems to be strange at times (I've included that in my wishlist-thread). You might want to try "avoidance" in this case, or create your own waypoints by holding down SHIFT while placing a series of move- or attack-tasks (in-situ).
Also, you should set the aggro-level accordingly (min or low), in order to allow your unit to disengage.

LOL, I wish I had 10p for every time I missed something like that in a game. Just chcek out the FPG forum for that. Heck we just had someone point out that the tank in the main dialog screen is Korean and not US. I'd be rich for staring at that about a thousand time while working the game on never saw it. [X(]
