Strategic Command Multiplayer Beta Test

Hello all
Please use this thread to report any issues encountered with the Strategic Command multiplayer beta implementation
'Multiplayer' will be 2 player (Allies vs. Axis) and will use the Slitherine PBEM++ system

Just a quick heads up that this probably won't be ready until Monday, unfortunately, as I am having a hard time finding enough time to wrap it up this weekend... but I'll have more time tomorrow and will keep everyone posted as I progress.

I can't stand Multi-Player - waiting for days for them to send the turn back, then they do something stupid and want a redo, or they start losing and quit without saying anything [never to be heard from again], or they figure out how to get into the code and cheat, or they do all gamey stuff to annoy me ... it's just an awful experience, I don't know why anyone does it.
People have said I need to find the right opponent. I have, it is Huberts' programmed opponent [:D]

+1 I've been there and know how it feels nonetheless if you find the right opponent it is much better than the AI.

I have been invited for the multiplayer test also, but when I just now attempted to go to the ftp address (just checking), I was denied access. So the powers that be will have to either give me a new password/login, or reactivate me. Thanks for any help.

The multiplayer patch will be available from via Dropbox, Hubert will post a link to it.
The ftp was closed just before the release of the game, only a few testers had the chance to test the final release version.

I'm still a bit delayed here gentlemen, been an unfortunate set of events on my end for the last few weeks that has kept me from keeping on pace for the final implementation of PBEM++ but I hope to be ready in a few days.

Hi Bill,
Would love to, but tbh was just aiming to test the mechanism of starting and aborting games a bit.
I don't have time to play full games atm. [:D]
So far I've tested the following succesfully:
- Starting multiple challenges of the same map.
- Starting different challenges of different maps.
- Cancelling one of those.
- Taking up a challenge and playing a few moves and ending the turn.
For me it's hard to play with the zoom bug as it is now.
As it's a habit of mine to zoom in and out all the time, my game would crash every turn. [:D][:D]

That's fine n0kn0k, it's good to see that working even if the zoom isn't working for you, and to be honest I've not exactly got much spare time either but it feels good to see Multiplayer starting to shape up.
