Curious about what this means exactly. Any info from the devs would be appreciated, but also some wild speculations from players

Good question. This could range from a formula change to few improvements or big changes.

Two speculations or things I would guess:

a) Air supply:
. ability to drop supply in a temporary supply dump from air transport
. ability to use on map airfields to supply the surrounding area with air transport (case of a pocket like Demyansk / Stalingrad)
Of course, air interdiction may impact those deliveries.

b) Splitting supply per type (let's dream):
. ammo used for offense and defense (at a scale linked to the engagement)
. fuel used for motorized / mechanized movement

But, one thing must came to mind. I suppose the change will be limited in order to continue to use the wonderful scenario list of TOAW III.
Let's wait for the feature list but I assume, if there is a revolution, it will have to be carefully introduced not to destabilize the existing scenario database.

I'm also hoping for more "realistic" supply funneling through HQ's and counting and accounting for the absolute amount of supply available - ie an offensive will use up your supply stockpile, sitting on defence not so much.
