Those are oilers, not tankers. They will still refuel ships.Platoonist wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 7:37 pm Yup. I think your best option to ensure those fat tankers of gas stay topped up long term is to keep them locked away in a task force with Do not Unload/Do not Refuel order.

No, they have to be in the same hex and the other ships have to have refueling orders that will request fuel. But the poster stated that he disbanded the oilers into the port where they will refuel ships as the ships need and request the fuel.
As someone said in an earlier post, if the other TFs are set to refuel (even minimal refuel) they will be refueled fully by a passing AO without any orders to do so. It is the only way to explain how my oilers lose fuel cargo (not their own bunkers) on their way to destination without having any orders to fuel TFs they cross paths with. The suspect TFs always come away with nearly full bunkers (a little gets used as they continue their journey). It's an annoyance because I usually want the AO to have full fuel when it arrives at destination as it will then escort smaller ships to target.Chris21wen wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 6:33 am Disbanded oilers will refuel other TF in the port if the port does not have enough fuel. Setting any TF to 'Do not refuel' will prevent this happenning but it has not effect on the oilers in port. Oilers in a TF will not refuel anything automatically from it's cargo tanks, they will like any ships transfer fuel from their own tanks if any ship in the TF they are in in becomes short. The only way at sea to refuel from an oiler is to set the receiving TF to 'Refuel'.
I thought that's what I said.BBfanboy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 2:51 pmAs someone said in an earlier post, if the other TFs are set to refuel (even minimal refuel) they will be refueled fully by a passing AO without any orders to do so. Your post started out dealing with refueling in port as if that was the only place it happens, and one sentence at the end mentions refueling at sea. I wanted to clarify about levels- that if the AO refuels a TF it does not reference the level of refueling - it fills them up if it has enough fuel and ops points. So setting the TF to "Refuel" as you put it means any level of refuel. I was just expanding on what was posted earlier so new players would not have to experiment.Chris21wen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:15 amI thought that's what I said.BBfanboy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 2:51 pmAs someone said in an earlier post, if the other TFs are set to refuel (even minimal refuel) they will be refueled fully by a passing AO without any orders to do so. Actually, there is an order that you can give to refuel another task force.bradfordkay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:21 pm " without having any orders to fuel TFs "
I think some are confused about TF orders. There is no order that you can give to the TF containing fleet oilers which gives them permission or refuses said permission to refuel other TFs. The "Do Not Refuel/Full Refuel/etc" orders are for the ships in the highlighted TF - it controls whether or not these ships accept refueling, not whether the oilers in that TF provide fuel for other ships.
Is that in the beta patches? It doesn't appear in v1126a - or if it does please show on a screenshot.RangerJoe wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 11:47 pmActually, there is an order that you can give to refuel another task force.bradfordkay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:21 pm " without having any orders to fuel TFs "

It is on the screen where you set up your patrol orders. You can have it meet another task force and one of the options then is to refuel the other task force.bradfordkay wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 3:19 amIs that in the beta patches?
