DD696, you can ask Ranger Joe what he meant without the personal attacks. Flame war comments will get you banned. The forum moderators are much less tolerant of such language than it was at one time.

At least I know what D-Day means, there were actually many of them until one D-Day. Then the nomenclature changed. I even know what Love Day (L-Day) is and what happened then.

Well, he wants to thump his chest because his stepfather was in a unit that landed on the wrong beach in France and subsequently only a small part of that unit made it to its objective. That entire battalion spent a lot of time guarding prisoners while other units spent a lot more time in combat. That unit for Christmas of 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge was in a rear area celebrating.

He did not state anything about his father, if he even knows who his father is or anything about him.

A few days ago I lost my temper and stated that I was done posting about this non-appearing patch, and I'm still holding to that.
The patch may or may not ever get released. Nice if it does, but OK if it doesn't so far as I care anymore.

What I am concerned with is people insinuating (even as a joke) that someone might be a Nazi (NSDAP/SS number indeed!), comments about a person's paternity, authenticity of military backgrounds to include DD214's and even who is or is not "Rambo" type. Next will come the usual "he said it first" claims and defenses.

Congratulations folks this is what a "discussion" about a stupid game patch boils down to then? I'll say it again; a GAME patch for crying out loud!

Take a step back and reconsider, is this worth it? Everyone here is better than this type of stuff.

Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be better if Matrix would just delete or lock this entire thread and then scrub the forums of any mention at all of a final patch.
