From an outsider; Is it possible for France to align itself with Germany ?
Yes.....actually, in a 7 player game, any kind of alliance is possible. Are you interested in a 7 player playtest to run paralel with this one?

I'll take a pass on this one. France is tough enough even when you do get a pact with Germany.

Attaturk wonders.....why did the Italians declared war on Poland?[&:]

Turn 7 sent. Italy declared war on Poland to wake it up and start producing. There is no land connection so no way to fight the conflict. Instead, I want Poland to be a stronger buffer between Germany and the Soviet Union.
Czechoslovakia also joined Germany this round.

I guess i need to expand alittle on this.
Soviet Russia has little to report, because, it is believed that we all agreed to report when we declared war on somebody, here on the forum. So Stalin was a bit miffed to learn after his turn, that Poland had woken up... luckily no harm done.
This is what REALLY happened on turn 7.
Poland was invaded, Rumania was invaded, Finland was invaded. In Poland Soviet troops surrounded Vilnius, and moved in position near Lvov. In Rumania the city of Christenau was taken. Large parts of the Rumanian fleet was sunk in port by The Soviet Navy. In Finland the Mannerheim line was broken, and soviet troops streamed on through.
Now this is what happened on turn 8.
In Poland Lvov and Vilnius fell into the hands of the Soviet Army. The advance towards Warsaw is steady. In Rumania nothing happened, as the Germans took over control, and a peace was thus brought about. I had expected this. In Finland the Mannerheim line was smashed to the north, and units advanced towards Helsinki. Here the Finnish fleet was also sunk in port, well all its destroyers anyway...
Oh and Ireland is now at war with the Soviet Union... (Just to wake it up).
Oh and btw Latvia will be a part of the Soviet Union, next turn.
Reasons behind the attacks: As soon as i learned the "doublecross" by Germany/Italy of declaring war on Poland, i knew i had to go to war. Germany would otherwise simply just expand and expand, without opposition... this way, at least it has to fight for the provinces that i take.

As tension increases, the smaller powers, Turkey and Spain, are worried about their own survival. Turkey was attempting to negotiate with Bulgaria a return to the security of the old Ottoman Empire just to hear from Germany that it is about to invite the Bulgarians to their own empire....but maybe it´s a disguised blessing since this could have been resulted in a DOW form an increasingly agressive Soviet Union.
Meanwhile Spanish recon aircraft detects a lot of naval activity near Gibraltar....

Turn 9 sent.
Bulgaria is aligned to Germany. In view of the Soviet aggression, my ambassador fires off a tersely worded note to Moscow.

turn 9,
In Finland the war goes well... Helsinki is under Naval Siege, and Soviet Troops stand outside the gates of the capitol.
In Poland things are equally going well... Soviet Troops have surrounded a large amount of polish troops in northern Poland, and that is, their supplylines are cut, by the daring raid of a division of Cavalry. In the centre of the action a Polish Cavalry division was beaten back, and Polands capitol, Warsaw, is now in clear view of the Soviet Troops.
With both these campaigns going well, Stalin could not be more pleased... if it wasn´t for a terse note from the German ambassador things would be even better. Stalin reminds himself to call up the German ambassador when he is in a better mood, and lecture him on diplomacy... Since none of this would have happened had the German/Italian alliance consulted the Soviets before declaring war on Poland with Italy...

Turn 10 sent.
Appalled by blatant Soviet agression in the East, the Danes ask for admittance and are accepted into the German sphere of influence

turn 10,
Soviet Russia has decided to sign a mutual ceasefire with its neighbors (went to peace with all minors)... This was done as a show of good faith. Now that the territorial security that Soviet Russia needed has been taken, or as we like to say our borders were adjusted, there is little need for war.
So in Finland, after a few inconclusive attacks, there is now peace. And in Poland, also after a few inconclusive attacks, there is also peace. However the war with Ireland, and now Norway has been resumed (just to wake them up)...
Lithuania also joins the workers Paradise...

Turn 11,
The war with Poland and Finland is resumed... The finns and poles where not honouring the ceasefire

... or some other excuse, that the world probably doesn´t believe... Anyway, fighting is under way again.
Also we are experiencing strange manuevers done by Germany in the Black Sea... Possibly an attempt at blockading Soviet harbors. Who knows what the Germans are up to...

Turn sent. No new nations joined. In response to the North Sea Defense Alliance, the German and Danish navies sortie into the North Sea and hold maneuvers off the English coast. The marine commander was surprise to find almost no defenses between London and Edinburgh. Plans for an early invasion are drawn up.

Turn 12:
Royal Air Force sent out planes for recon in North Sea. Royal Navy does some recon in the northern areas. German Kriegsmarine shows up everywhere. Britain expects a DoW next turn (pity, if I had looked at forum before doing the turn, I might have made a DoW first and tried to sink the transport at the coast).

Actually, you couldn´t. As there is a dip.block on Germany until Germany declares war on someone, or 1937 arrives.. whichever comes first.
