I know nothing of what you say not being a computer knowledgeable person. All I can say is in the Data folder of SotP there are 4 AVI files with the Divx logo on the bottom that are audio&video files. I consider these to be "media files" that is they are used to play audio&video programs within the game.
Whoever provides these Divx files they keep sending me updated and till I fixed it the program kept wanting to run various type of files like audio CD's and such. I have deleted the game and not understanding what you say makes little difference. I did find it funny that I went to the game's web site and downloaded the latest patch. Now the graphics for the intro play great but have no sound till the game starts, and even on my fast win 7 64 bit or my 32 bit Xp Pro system the game runs very slow which some long gaps
with no indication om the screen that the thing is running.

You most likely have a great game but its not my style and I am not fond of the graphics and some of the game routines as well. It does have some interesting design ideas however. This is just one persons opinion so don't let it ruin your day.

Could you please check the icons at any other of your .avi files?

Also you can just delete them, without any harm for the game.

If the game runs slow, you can go to the preferences and reduce movemnt/attack intervals.
