Thanks Beachinnole. Your work is fantastic.

I need to rework from the beginning since my hex size and coordinate was wrong [:(] I will follow the ESRI satellite and ESRI national geo data as well. OSM data has moderate overall accuracy for North Korea, but some of the forest / city data is inaccurate. Until I found some trustable woods / city data file for QGIS, I better just follow the ESRI sat and nat-geo ones.

BTW, I'm using the PDF to get things into the FPRS Scanner. I'm not going through the PDF sequentially as I am beyond a lot of of the points with the map I've been working on and right now I'm trying to fill in what I missed in the drawing process. That said, so far the parts that I have used for the Print composer and Area Box layer are well written and nice easy to follow step-by-step instructions.

The next map I do, I will follow through step-by-step.

So a test of the rough map. I threw some units on it and deliberately did not include bridges to ensure the hex obstacle is working right. Looked good to me when I scanned it in, but we'll see...

OK, yes Houston we have a problem. Apparently the hexes on either side of the canal scanned in as water hexes (Obstacle "9")

Al, try upping the edge buffer zone a few pixels to clear the canal.

OK, I think that worked and I have numbers from 1 to 8 now in the hexes but now how does the scanner know were the canal is?

Yeah that worked for the hex but now I've lost the canal hex side. Me thinks I need to so some more reading...
