Kursk-Rumiantsev
If we deploy a unit to the place where I deployed the cavalry, it reveals the position of 2 German infantry units :
Cavalry has higher view points than tanks or infantry (3 instead of 2) - it does seem to be in the normal range ?
Ok, I forgot that the Cavalry has higher view points. In that case, there is no problem.

I'm going to

I reload a Rumyantsev savegame and choose the southern path.

I reload a Rumyantsev savegame and choose the southern path.
After searching the .cmp file and the .scn file i could not find anything with a branching command towards the Berlin map in the southern path.
Do you have a savegame which leads directly to the decision and to Berlin after it ?
That whould help a great deal to find this.

Hi terminator,
are you sure you are using the Beta version and no old savegames ?
It is important that everything is fresh as some errors are in the xml structure of a map and will be saved in a savegame and thus will persist on your machine after a fix.
There was an image in the Azov briefing in the preview version you had prior to the Beta, but there was too much text for the space available to fit the image in. So it was removed and now it should look like the attached picture.

2nd Kiev
This text should be in English :

2nd Kiev
- Typo errors : Shitomir -> Zhitomir, Kiev- City -> Kiev-City
- Victory conditions error : if I capture Brusyliv in the case below, the scenario ends and I will have a Normal Victory. Impossible to have a Brilliant Victory and then impossible to go to Crimea option.

Leningrad 1944:
Actually the Germans have no chance to win in this one. Only you yourself can cause a loss.

In Bagration the cities now have the same order in both victory conditions:

2nd Kiev:
Shitomir or Zhitomir ? Ж is the letter that was transcribed into Western format differently over time. So it was not really an error or even ill will, just that in general Ukrainian and Russian names are/were spelled different depending on the transcription. In German its the same e.g. Charkov, Charkiv and Charkiw can be found as name for Kharkov.
I changed it to Zhitomir anyway.
Brillant victory should work in the next Beta version, i added this condition:

Valkyrie has no image in my version, i sadly did not find a free image that fits it. So i assume you used an old savegame with the pointer to an image still in the xml.
Kishinev can not be used to deploy Soviet units in the new Beta.
Thanks for all your contributions above, terminator!

Hi Ronald,
At least now Zh is the standard way to write Ж. The translit site also gives this solution.
There is difference between Russian and Ukrainian. Charkow is Russian (the official language of the USSR) and Charkiw is Ukrainian. The Soviets would speak Russian in official situations and use Russian words on maps, and Russian was also the command language in the army. There was a Soviet detective movie about Moscow criminal police where one of the detectives is Ukrainian and speaks Ukrainian, but that is a small group of detectives and the group leader's rank is captain. In this game the player is in charge of army groups/fronts, that is a field marshal's position.
I also think Strelna is just Strelna without a b. The thing that looks like a ''b'' after ''l'' is the Russian soft mark which is written as a letter. Placing a soft mark after a consonant makes it soft, on spoken language it sounds like like ''Streljnja''.
But this of course is not the most important thing. Russians also have their own versions for German words, like ''Gans'', ''Genrih'', ''Kyonigsberg'' etc.

Hi AngrySwan,
and in addition there are some towns in the western part of the Ukraine/Belorussia that also have Polish forms of their names. So its not easy to make the right choice [:D]

Hi Ronald,
To keep things simple, we can use names that were used on maps of that time and that field marshals of one side or the other would read when planning missions. For the German side it would be German maps with Russian names in Latin alphabet - but even that is complicated and there is no right version, the best thing we can do is find a name they used back then and put it on map.
What is now Latvia and Estonia were Crusader/church states in 13th-16th century so the large cities and medium towns had German names and Saulai in Lithuania was Schaulen although as far as I know the Crusaders never ruled there, but the city was close to their lands and they gave it a German name. I have used as much of these names in Riga and Tallinn/Reval scenarios as I could find.
On the Soviet side, we have Russian names but in Latin alphabet and the game is in English and German versions, so the Soviet capital is either Moskau if you try to take it or Moscow if you defend it, although Russians call it Moskva... this is as simple as it gets, and still very complicated.
(By the way, Major von Boehm and his colleagues in the movie about interrogation speak English most of the time and their files are in English, so that the American pilots of 1944 could understand everything without spending some months on a beginner course in German.)
Anyway, if you need help with Russian names let me know.

I will, though it more likely someone will come to me to complain about one on some of the maps.
