Wow, you found a sealed box game, nice, I have three of the games in my closet in perfect condition but no 3.5” drive. It’s okay though
Just buy the drive. External ones with USB plug are still made and available. I bought one couple years ago to install The Settlers (PC, English, floppy disk version). Here is one:

The Velikie Luki game was my first wargame. I'll fire them all up on occasion, really exceptional titles. They've aged better than many of the more recent wargames. Like others have said, spruce up the UI and graphics and you'd have a winner. They really fill a nice niche between DC:B and WitE2, and the platoon level games.

Who was Atomic Games and where are they now? I think I'll have to look this up.
You will find information about Atomic Games at
MobyGames.

To my mind Matrix/Slitherine could re-release them; they like vintage stuff like that... PLUS PC MEMOIR '44 of course [:D] -- DoW is simply not coping with the PC version....

These games are great and I owned them all back in the day. Still have my boxed Operation Crusader and the Commemorative Collection. I am currently playing an email game of D-Day: America Invades. I downloaded all of them from Abandonia. These games have held up remarkably well and I still consider them the best operational level wargames that have ever been made. Not sure who owns the rights to them. Avalon Hill was bought by Hasbro many years ago but not sure if they also got the rights for the World at War series. Atomic started making the real-time tactical games after the V for Victory series so I assume they still own the rights to it. I do wish GOG or Matrix would release them all as a box set.

Don't you wish Matrix would get the rights to all of them, including the World at War series done for Avalon Hill and re-release them?
Agreed! The World at War series had a number of good usability changes over the V for Victory games. Still start them every now and then using DOSBox.

Awesome collection! I always really liked the box art. Especially Velikiye Luki and Stalingrad.
