I usually customize my games once I generate a random game to include a single "Mercenary Base" near my capital city. I give it about 500 production points and set it up to produce Mercenaries of around 5 per turn. In the game I outfit my elite formations with them, for example: germans (SS), anglo (royal guards), Russian (red guards), Japanese (imperial guard) or just call them elite infantry or something. I generally up the combat stats just a nudge or two to give them an ever so slight advantage over regular rifles infantry. At 5 subformations per turn, it takes a while to build up a division or two of elite infantry and keep them outfitted with replacements. It spices up the game in my opinion.
I don't know if anyone else uses anything like elite infantry formations, however, I'm working on some now in hopes that others will find them interesting additions to the game. I should have a set in a few hours.

I have been thinking about ways to make them (in game) many times. Your method of making a separate base, is one way, and I have seen variations on it too. It is a smart way for sure, since you won't get too many of them. No-one is able to produce only those. So if you have space for an extra location, it is an excellent way of doing it.
Unfortunately GD does not have a real space luxury. So I am trying to think of other ways of doing it. Not found anything I like yet.

And, there is a new beta coming that will have execs to set these graphics, so you don't have to do it manually, which would probably drive anyone crazy. It would require making a stringlist, which you can edit outside of ATG and then reload, to set the file names for the graphics that then get read during an event.
Can't wait for this one! is there a time frame when this will be completed and rolled out?

And here they are; elite rifle subformations. Just in case anyone wants to make SS divisions or Guards rifle divisions or special SE Asian infantry divisions, etc. etc.

Thank you. I'm glad to help out in the enjoyment of ATG.

Handheld anti-tank weapons. I've called the zip file "BAZOOKA", though, not all the anti-tank weapons in it are bazookas.
Please note: I will eventually be placing all my graphics in one large zip file with more simplified file names in order to be more compatible with a new system of assigning subformation graphics using event code and string files that Ormand is working on. In the meantime, I'm posting my graphics as individual packs based on subformation type.

ADDENDUM: 2 Missing units, African Paratroopers.
I don't think Africa is a playable nation, however, just in case, I've created a full set of African units for the game. The two units attached here are the missing African paratroopers that I neglected to do with the other Para units. One is a Paratrooper and the other is a Paratrooper with a Light Machine Gun.

I think for the remainder of the crew-served weapons, I'll be featuring the weapons alone, without crews (as the vanilla game does). So here are the mortars:

The original Random game generator, before ANewDawn, had scouts in it. These were depicted as on motorcycles. I figured a representation of figures from each nation (or maybe just a generic one) might be something you could look into? The German ones had sidecars, I don't think the allied ones had.

I have a motorcycle model I can use along with a sidecar. 4 Seasons currently uses one graphic for all the peoples in the game. I may try to make a generic version. I'll see when I get to them.

For the vehicles, since they take considerably longer to create, I'll post the game files in smaller increments, just to keep things moving. Simply right-click and choose save as...
I'll eventually post completed .zip file packs of these things but it's probably going to take a while to accumulate them.
