PB Ansyu Maru is reported to have been sunk near Darwin on Jan 19, 1943
PB Senyo Maru is reported to have been sunk near Darwin on Jan 19, 1943
Japanese Home Islands:
SS Tuna has found a fat convoy including huge Tonan Maru class tankers near Saishu To, but heavy escort (including a CS) prevented a success. She encountered a second convoy and torpedoed xAK Calcutta Maru.
Northwestern Australia:
Night-bombing Dutch B-25 destroyed a Zero on the ground at Broome.
The RN bombarded Broome with 1 BB, 4 CA and 2 CL with good results.
Northern Australia:
A USN cruiser SAG (CA, 5 CL, DDs, 2 DMS) have bombarded Darwin, sinking two PBs on the way in and giving the base a good pasting.
The 194th Tank Battalion has captured virtually undefended Wyndam - only remnants of an airbase service coy encountered. Recon had shown minimum forces present so the Tank Bn raided the place on its own.

Milne Bay bombing runs surprised by Japanese LRCAP - Tojos and Nicks. A dozen B-17s damaged, one Wirraway lost.
