Axis move troops up after the snow thawed in the mud. USSR generals, anxious to deliver a nose bleed providing some screening cover and skirmish with advancing Axis units, but no real punches ensue. A new Russian HQ is deployed and the front stabilizes with new re-inforcements.
The classic move the Allies, and myself, make in this game, is moving TOO FAST. After Pearl, when Soviets are on the ropes, Allies can get too jumpy and invade / make stupid moves. I think I should not have counter-punched with the Soviets as I lost some entrechments. USN and RN move toward Pearl, very cautious of a counter attack.

After the massive offensive, 2 armies, 1 AT destroyed, 1 corps and 1 tank retreated and wounded.

Large MPP losses for Axis.
Stalin orders his tractor factories reset to tank production

Axis brings up heavy armor and panzergrendaiers to attack in the north.
Soviets destroy an AT gun spearhead, repair troops and build entrenchments on multiple defensive fronts.
Soviets deploy reinforcements and the can go toe-to-toe with Axis, for now.
German NM drops as a combination of destroying Eastern Front troops and picking off the KM one by one.

The German War-Economy is now strained, losing what it gains almost every turn.
Axis have invaded Vichy France, Belgium and Netherlands (which had been neutral this whole time), so they got about 400 MPP boost from that plus 2 mines which will bump up their MPP.

US has responded by ordering strat bombers to pummel the industrial base of the Reich.

USA waits patiently, overinvesting in MPP, and has hit Industrial Technology 5.

USN does not have a Navy yet that can go toe-to-toe with Japan. Ordered maritime bombers, HQ for Hawaii, waiting on NW 2 before assaulting the out-cropping islands.

India is invaded by Japan.
USA more research than Italy has made the entire game ...

Nice Soviet offensive. 1942 can be quite an interesting year if Soviets survive with enough units and land to actually put up a fight.

I've seen this both ways though honestly more often I think Allies are too passive. They have to make Germany feel some pressure otherwise the USSR is dead. I think your invasions in Scandinavia have done enough to keep the USSR alive but the clock is ticking especially since it appears the Japanese will invade from the east.

Pearl is heavily defended and US subs touch base with Nippon to force Elvis to pull ships back to prevent a potential land AVL invasion ...

Northern Storm progress, UK destroys the Swedish HQ, but meets stiff resistance from well equipped Swedish Armies.

UK moves up a strat bomber to crush supply and maritime bombers sink a second Swedish Heavy Cruiser. Feels great getting the +500 NM boost and watching the axis lose 250 NM.

Very important as allies to invest in IT! UK has been slinging MPP's to Russia the whole game and honestly is not that strong. It's forces are divided and soon I think Japanse troops will invade Iraq, and Egypt.

I think Allies should go for an invasion of Spain or Italy.

Strat bombers can cut supply to Germany.

USSR got too excited, moved up some troops and hit a level 3 Axis tank division, suicide attack and did no damage. Soviet mechanized troops trade entrenchment to destroy a German Corps. Engineers finish more defences outside Stalingrad, preparing for the eventual level 3 Germa armor spearhead.

I'm addicted to research as Allies, pumped another 600 MPP into the Warfare techs and C&C. USA won't have any land units ready until early 1943, but that's ok. USN has to deal with Japan and stop the bleeding. Allies will then push on Italy in Spring of '43 opening up a second front against the Axis. Strat bombers and maritime bombers attack from the Scandanavian countries to force Axis to spend MPP on fighter and AA defenses. The goal is to pull the German Reich apart from a thousand angles.

Operation Northern Wind has hiccups taking Stockholdm, but the convoy is shot for the Axis, cutting MPP deliveries.

In Southern Russia, Soviets troops retreat and bloody the Axis on their way back. Last game, I lost as Allies due to losing the oil fields as USSR. All defences south!
So far Case Blue has been a failure for the Axis.
Germans take heavy MPP losses

While the Russian retreat, the amount of Axis units needed to spreadheard toward Rostov shrinks, and as the fingers close the fist gains punching power. Serious Axis combined air, armor, and artillery strike hard and fast. A Soviet HQ is lost in the Swamps due to Axis airpower. Heavy punches are exchanged!

Soviet, eager to divert Axis troops, launch an offensive in the Rhyzev meat grinder.
Soviet troops pounce on an HQ, blow for blow in revenge for losing an HQ south of Rostov, but cannot completely destroy it.

Soviets take huge losses and NM is low.

Need to destroy Mussolini to divert OKH troops to Northern Italy.

A little trouble in Sweden ... armies were hard to destroy.
But strat bombers deliver great combat odds to undersupplied troops.
