I think the Japanese force on Marcus is gonna break real soon. The Allied Carrier fleet planes put a couple of torpedos into Japanese AK Bangkok Maru. I think that convoy is heading to southern Luzon hopefully it will hit some mines.

It appears that all Japanese troops on Marcus are now destroyed the island is cleared for now. My subs have spotted a bunch of Japanese AP's leaving Wake hopefully they aren't bringing more troops. Another Destroyer is hit by a Japanese sub so two destroyers are torpedoed in two days.

Well the Japanese have torpedoed another allied Destroyer. Well with Marcus cleared I have planned to take the Bonin Islands group and Iwo Jima. Bonin has the best port in the area and I want to base alot of submarines there. I can begin an effective blockade of the home islands I figure with the taking of Iwo and Bonin. So far the blockade of the Japanese home islands has been piecemeal due to the long ranges from allied ports.

The USS Babbitt sank from Japanese torpedo she got hit by on July 9th. USS Babbitt (DD–128) was a Wickes class destroyer in the United States Navy during the World War I and World War II, later classified as AG-102. She was named for Fitz Babbitt. Babbitt was launched 30 September 1918 at New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey; sponsored by Miss Lucile Burlin; commissioned 24 October 1919, Commander W. W. Eberle in command; and reported to the Pacific Fleet. Babbitt served with the Pacific Fleet on maneuvers and exercises until going out of commission at San Diego 15 June 1922.

The Connecticut TF has damaged a Japanese sub and sank the TK Manei Maru on its way to raid Taichu, Formosa. I'm gonna base the Connecticut TF from Shanghai for a little while and use it to harrass the Formosa ports since things seem to have gotten quiet in the South China sea. I am also gonna rebase my ship mine TF to Shanghai and use it to mine the Korean strait. Hopefully this will destroy some Japanese shipping which is probably going through the strait to supply Korea and the Japanese bases in China.

The U.S. 21st Cavalry division has moved into Vigan in northern Luzon also the 2nd UK division is on the move to Tuguegarao. I'm hoping to close these two ports to Japanese shipping further reducing their port options for supply on Luzon. I have noticed an increased amount of Japanese subs in the South China sea. I'm gonna have to activate a few new ASW TF's to deal with this increased activity.

Well it looks like the Bonin islands will be a tough fight the Japanese coastal guns are blazing away at the landing ships. The Japanese AK Sanuki Maru got torpedoed twice once from allied sub J-1 and from some planes operating off of the carrier TF. The allied DD Williams got torpedoed by Japanese sub number 36.

The transports landing the U.S. 5th army division are getting shot to hell in the landings on the Bonin islands. The British BC TF has been reactivated and has sunk two Japanese AP's. The Great White fleet sunk a lone Japanese AP carrying 3535 troops near Formosa a lucky hit. A navy blimp has arrived at Marcus island this should help in spotting any Japanese convoy's heading south towards Wake island. I think Bonin will fall relatively quickly the only drawback to the whole operation is a bunch of AK's and AP's are gonna sink further constricting available shipping for the Central Pacific theatre. The 2nd Marines have embarked for Iwo Jima from Saipan hopefully they can take it without alot of casualties.

The British BC TF did a quick hit and run on the port of Taipei on Formosa with little affect. The first transport ship has sunk at Bonin the AK Vermont I'm sure more will sink in the next couple of days but on the bright side most of the U.S. 5th division has landed.

Tuguegarao falls to British troops with minimal casualties another port is closed to Japanese supplies on Luzon. The BC TF has a nice raid on Taichu sinking 5 Japanese ships every little bit helps. The 5th Division has fought its first battle on Bonin I'm really hoping to take the island quickly so I can start moving subs there. Another AK sank at Bonin this last turn. Some Japanese DD's are hit by the CV TF in the south China sea I'm gonna try and intercept this small force if I can.

Bonin is now taken and it has a nice port from which I will base subs to harrass shipping on the Japanese home islands. The White fleet sank a couple of Japanese merchant ships off the east coast of Formosa while on patrol. I am sending them back around Formosa to the Pescadores my spotter planes have spotted a couple of Japanese BB's and CA's lurking there. Hopefully they can catch them but we shall see. The 2nd Marines are almost at Iwo Jima which will be another nice conquest hopefully.

Defeated Japanese Units Retreating!

With the taking of Vigan yet another port on Luzon is closed to Japanese supply ships. I'm gonna build up some more forces in Nothern Luzon to push even further into the Japanese occupied zone and hopefully break the stalemate at Manila. I'm already building up a massive amount of supply at Aparri which will be the main landing point of troops intended for the northern front. The 5th Indian Division is the latest unit to arrive it will be pushed forward to Vigan to reinforce the 21 Cavalry. The White fleet encountered a couple of convoy's in the Taiwan strait the capital ships spotted last turn have dissapeared. The spotter planes have been grounded due to bad weather that has moved into the area and have frustrated efforts to find those ships.

Yep - she sank 64 ships, damaged 5, and captured 2 on 14 war patrols with the Imperial German Navy, most under the command of the same captain. Her most famous victims were Carpathia - the rescue ship made famous by the Titanic disaster, and the hospital ship Rewa.
