True - but consider this: a TF with a 14" dreadnought, a 12" dreadnought, and a 10" cruiser will do less damage than a TF with, say, 4 10" cruisers. Your task force leader is always assigned to the best ship present, so when that mixed TF encounters enemy, and 14" shells start flying, your leader is no longer trying to get closer to the enemy, instead remaining at maximum range. So your 12" and 10" guns are doing barely anything. Now, most times it's not noticeable as enemy will try to get closer to you, but say you encountered a troop convoy. Suddenly quantity outweighs quality...

A port can repair up to four or five ships a turn. Pick your priorities - shift the rest to Diamond Harbor, Sydney, Oakland, or even Pearl Harbor. Is your AR where your worst needed ships are?

My AR is repairing ships at Guam that got severely damaged in the landing on Saipan. Well you learn something new every day thanks for the advice [:)]

The Yubari caused consideral damage on the Chinese fleet and sank the U.S.S. Dent basically all by herself. Good thing its all old ships that were lost but the Yubari has given me the fear. She must be destroyed!

Well guys after some technical difficulties I'm back my modem got fried in a thunderstorm last Saturday. I'm trying out smaller task forces after Rysyonok's suggestions [:)] The Rhode Island took a torpedo in its small raid on Taichu [:@] Well anyway good to be back [:)]

Check aggressiveness ratings in Rhode Island's TF. Escorting DDs should have much higher ones - that way they have a better chance of spotting and hitting the sub before it attacks. Allies have about two dozen naval 75+ / aggressiveness 75+ leaders - having them in the right locations in the right time can make a difference
