903. Move XXXXII to hex (you don’t need to do this move and re-assignment since this HQ will be used as a RAD SU repair HQ. But if following along you can or just skip this step and next step and pick back up where I use this HQ to gather up RAD SU’s in the steps ahead. Otherwise you can follow along in my error) (see step 913 on what this HQ does)

925. C0mpleted move of XXXXII HQ with 5 rail hexes it should fix. Supply in the HQ is good. I did miss in the photo the 5th rail hex for repair just out of the picture. The White square box I will stack with 3 units to keep a RAD SU from deploying in this hex for repair.

Thanks very much for this. Having hours of fun as I slowly work through this.
I have a couple of general questions which I will save to the end.
Step 12 is missing a statement assigning 168 ID to LV Corps though the screen shots make that obvious.
Once again than ks.

Thank you 56ajax, 168th Div starts in LV Corps. You can ask away at anytime and don't have to wait till the end.

Ok.
1. Why don't you build Depots on T1? I would have thought that anything that moves freight further East is a good thing.
2. I am only hlf way through but you seem to destroy every single Soviet fort on T1. This causes approx 50% casualties where as if they are isolated on T2 they can be eliminated by a zoc drive by, causing 95% casualties.
Thx

Some Soviet turn 1 FZs are annoying to keep alive because they hinder movement that costs less MPs. With others you want to get rid of them to ensure that a rout, rather than a retreat, occurs.

@ number 1 - you are only going to get a few hexes into the Soviet Union anyway. So why build them? I use the existing to start stacking supply in existing level 4 depots at the border. A few hex difference really doesn't make a difference. Plus it goes along with my supply setup I am doing.
@ number 2 - turn 1 you have the bonus of attacking a great deal cheaper. Either you deal with them turn 1 when it is cheap to do so or you can fiddle with them turn 2 and 3. I choose to get Soviets in a nice little pocket for very easy elimination turn 2 and then start running to the front. Or you can deal with them turn 2 and 3. Remember, larger the pocket it normally take longer to eliminate.

@number1 - I suppose I have a very different philosophy when it comes to supply. On T1 many Axis units start over supplied and thus at the end of the turn have no need for resupply in many instances. Thus it is a golden opportunite to drag supply out of all the NSS and move it East into depots closer to the front. I assume this helps supply.
@number2 - I understand your arguements, and yes if they are in the way I blast them on T1, but just remember an isolated fort by itself will auto surreneder when it comes into the zoc of a passing Axis division (No fighting in the war room required) Soviet lossess typically at 95%

@ Number 1 - you have examples of dragging more supply out? If that is the case just build a bazillion depots all over the map. Would this not drag the most out? I believe, and not certain there is a certain amount released during a turn. If having more depots demanding then your statement would be true, is it? I have heard a few say this and the readers and I would love further information on this. Thank you as always.
@ Number 2 - really? Isolated forts auto surrender? I had no idea. I know that some units, not just forts, will auto surrender if certain conditions are met. I assume this pertains to forts as well but has not been my experience or maybe just not seeing it with all forts. You have screenshots of this to share with the forum and me? Love learning new things.

In the case of turn 1 Soviet FZs they auto-surrender because almost all of them as a rule of thumb are depleted in terms of TOE after the Soviet logistics phase. And when a depleted unit gets isolated and next turn it stays isolated, it simply surrenders when hugged by an enemy.

I am looking at my Soviet game and most are not "depleted", not many(I have only 1). Most of the ones in my game are "unready and ready". Do you have a map of the depleted Forts the Soviets have on turn 1 to share with the readers that are depleted? And is it constant with the RNG? Thank you up front for your answer.
The cavet for surrender on the depleted units is that it will have to be isolated to surrender. Since forts can't displace they would surrender without being isolated, correct?

At the start of T2 they appear like this.
They can be mopped up by a Div or regiment for zero Axis losses and Soviet losses of 2980 men and 29 guns

Do you have the combat results for all of those? Would be nice for the forum to see the results in action
