Wow! You did bring in a boatload of troops. That's 36 EEV's worth of commitment points. You'll probably need a US replacement draft for another 4 EEVs. A commitment level of 30+ will cause you EEV to grow by 2 every 5 turns. Without any bombing campaign or additional troop commitment you will cross the 45 EEV line around the first of the year (1966). That'll be 5-7 months ahead of the historical timeline.

As you have probably noticed the sea transport levels for the US is only 40% of what it was in the previous version (2000 vs 5000) so you will be quite some time getting your forces into action. A slower pace in requesting your forces would put your troops on the ground at about the same pace but with a slightly lower EEV penalty.

On the plus side you gain the Australians, New Zealanders, and Koreans almost immediately and they enter directly in South Vietnam requiring no shipping.

Ron is going to be very miserable for a time but if he plays his cards right he will get to wave bye to US troops ahead of schedule.

Oops. I hadn't thought of that. Dag Nab it. Ron is probably going to win this game because of my bringing in a boatload of troops before I REALLY needed them.

Here's my view of the VC recruits: [ I can bomb these guys with my planes but
they are all sitting on hexes that have AAA units and I'm not really sure that I
want to loose that many planes just to kill a few VC squads. ]

There's been an air-to-air battle that happened when the game engine did the
pre-turn updating I guess. I didn't get the shoot down ratio I wanted but....:
