Scenario 1 and scenario 2:
These bases have 0 Allied VP multiplier
Aligarh #825
Ambala #827
Amritsar #828
Bikaner #836
Winton #963
Winton also has a 0 Japan VP multiplier
Most of these are hold overs from the original data files
Thanks. I can see these in the original data files as well, but they might as well get fixed now. Added to the fix list.

Looks like Matrix has been working on game’s up front applications for the new beta.
I hope this is going to be working better soon because we are going to be into
Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays in about two weeks.
Matrix is likely to drop the price of the game over the holidays which may bring
some (hope many) new players into the game.
It would be good not to confuse new players at the very start if they decide to go beta.
We are likely to get a lot of questions on the forum.
With that in mind it would be good to get the documentation on the same page.

Veteran players won’t have a problem with this, we will just ignore it,
but a new player might stumble over it.
Right now there is not a “start menu folder” in the what we call the main game folder.
I assume matrix means main game folder.
Also, right now there is not a “Quick Start” shortcut, a “Quick Start” link or a “Quick Start” tab
located in the main folder.
The part:
“The switches are added after the “War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe in the target field.”
The
War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe is an executable….it resides in the main game folder
and it does not have a target field…. it is the target.
What a player needs to do is create a shortcut on his desktop that points to the
War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe
and then add the command switches in the target field of his desktop shortcut.
It also looks like Matrix has added another executable called
Launcher.exe which appears to do the same
thing as the
War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe.
Matrix has also added a launcher folder which has some buttons, icons and images….looks like they
have plans to re-design the upfront…..that can be a very good and necessary thing to do….but
right now it would be good to get the basic documentation to line up.

"Right click on the desktop icon" and have MichaelM update the "Whats New"....GP

I think you are on the right track…
What do you think of this…..Is it true?
The submarines work fine this way but I can’t remember if there are other
ships that swap out ammo for mines?

I managed to get this running.
I also noticed that the Pope and the Pillsbury are in the wrong locations.
I also noticed that two bases in China have Light Industry of 0(0) and Resources of 0(0) which makes me wonder why they are listed unless it is so Japan can make some Light Industry there . . .
Yaowang Mtn 1 hex SE of Sian has this affliction and 1 hex to the East, Yuntsi also suffers from this affliction.
BTW, Jamaica should have resources and light industry. After all, where will the Royal Navy get their sweet rum from? Those are part of their essential rations . . .

It looks like New Orleans is now the deployment location for a large number of US subs and destroyer escorts. These likely were the subs built on the Great Lakes at Manitowoc Shipbuilding and then sent south to the Gulf of Mexico by river and canal. I suppose the DEs come from Consolidated Shipbuilding in Orange, Texas.

The Strategic Map art tile is not the one we usually use.
The one now used in the beta was the original which had the control zones on it.
The control zones are not used by the game.
It would be good to change that back.

The dot base Pearl & Hermes Reef (160/92) is deep ocean hex. Shouldn't it be atoll (or some kind of land hex)?

Yep,
It is an atoll:

Jamaica is wrong too, game shows it as atoll.

For allied air groups at the start of the game for Scenario 1, morale appears to be lower than before, even outside of combat regions. Perhaps this was just due to bad die rolls.
Further, air groups start off with different missions than before. Instead of training, many seem to have their default missions set: for instance, CAP, airfield attack, and recon...even when they are far from the action.
As an example, the following are for San Francisco, with the previous version and the beta (with B-17s ready to attack nearly airbases!).

I don't pay too much attention to base administration or stack level (unless I see too many groups or planes are at a base), so I don't know if the following suggests an issue (or merely that I don't know the details about these two things).
Again for SF, but where I set the groups to have identical missions. Yes, slight difference in ready/non-ready aircraft:

I forgot the switch and had computer subs on. I changed that and when I go to the sub TF and switch it from "computer" to "human" control, the speed goes from "mission" to "cruise."

I'm intrigued to see that New Orleans and Baton Rouge have been added as off-map ports. However, I'm at a loss as to why the Clemson-class DDs Pope and Pillsbury are stationed in the former at the December 7th start. Shouldn't they be with the Asiatic Fleet?
Pope and Pillsbury.jpg
Yes they should be. I can see how this happened - it was to do with how I updated some of the ship locations to cater for the new map, but some ships in the official scenarios were "moved' by mistake. I thought I had rectified that, but it looks like the Pope and Pillsbury slipped through. I have added these to the fix list.

Map data error - definitely my error to fix.
For anyone who wants to try it - give this updated pwhexe (map data) file a go.

So it does. Another error on my part to leave those visible when I generated the new set of small maps. Added to the fix list.
Try this updated Strategic map (which goes into the beta ART folder).

I thought this was brought up in you earlier thread.
Hex 50,54 and 51,54 are coded as OD but the art work shows them to be shallow ocean terrain.
And the updated pwhex file works fine and the corrections are there.

I do not have a beta ART folder, I did a new clean install with just the original 10079 file and the 1127 beta patch file
