How is air superiority determined for sieges?

Please respond to this, as it is critical in understanding how best to place air units.

It compares total strenght of air forces in the victinity of the hex.

The pattern is rather complicated as the air superiority is only one of the factors taken inder consideration during the siege.
Anyway try to compare your air units strenght against enemy air units.

Interesting.  Then that algorithm could easily be used for determining air superiority for the purposes of air/naval interaction.  The air/naval could be done very like sieges, in terms of determining hits.
 
The info you provided for air superiority and air effectivity, if provided in the manual, would give players a better impression of nuance and complexity in a game which, from the look of it, is simplistic.  It would of course allow the player to employ better tactics.
