Victory Points

I recently bought this game and have been working through the tutorials. One question that I have concerns the awarding of points toward victory. As near as I can tell, if I knock out one Soviet tank, and the Commie hoard knocks out one of my trucks, they each count the same toward awarding victory points. This does not make sense to me. Am I missing something?

It all depends on the design of the scenario what victory points are awarded.
Some of my scenario designs, I've moved away from pts for casualties and award them mostly for the capture of victory hexes.
This eliminates a lot of easy points if the AI does dumb things.

I think it may be due to the desire to keep the boardgame clutter-free and the accounting system simple. But in the computer game I think this is a thing that could change. So every VP does not have to be an "1". Maybe Trucks = .3?

The awarding of VPs for destroying trucks mirrors what is seen on the tabletop game. The difference is that destroyed trucks usually don't reduce the owners CAPs too like destroying their armor does. Never noticed if that is followed on the PC game.

If I have my 'game' head on, trucks tend to resemble fast kamikaze scouts who race for distant victory hexes or shy units who hide in the corners of their own deployment zones so as to avoid getting shot at.
I usually don't have that head on, so trucks usually act as transports.
But I take you point ref truck kill VP implications - and also their abilities to capture VPs etc.
