Land units have a "facing" button, but sofar I haven't figured out how to edit the initial direction of naval units and planes.
How do I do that?

I thought there was a hot key to set orientation in the editor. Not sure what it is.

I have looked in the manual and can't find it. I thought it was O or R. I'll keep looking.

Page 93 in the manual...

Unit Orientation: Found in the left click on unit drop down menu.
Select this function to set unit bearing. This should always be done
for radars or weapons systems that
have limited arcs.

I think you are right. I just went in and played around with it. The manual should be more specific becuase reading it doesn't leave that impression.

The only way I have found to do it is to set up the units speed and plotted course - let the game run a few min so they can orient themselves. Then Save the Scenario and reset the scenario start time. Important to do this early.
