Iran Strike, 2020-2030 (Updated April 25, 2026)
Posted: Mon Jan 03, 2022 10:47 pm
This scenario is a sandbox scenario to see what an Israeli, USA, or combined USA-Israel strike on Iran's nuclear program might look like between 2020 and 2030. As such, it is up to you, the player, to determine what aircraft to use, what weapons to arm them with, and how to execute the strikes.
This is a limited strike against the Iranian nuclear program. It is not a general air campaign against Iran, as seen during Operation Rising Lion in June 2025. This was mostly to keep the unit count reasonable.
The capabilities available to you will depend on both the side you select and the options selected during scenario setup, the most significant being the scenario year. There are three different year options available - Early 2020s (2018-2022), Mid 2020s (2023-2027), and Late 2020s (2028-2032).

Version 6.1.0 (April 24, 2026) (Requires CMO v1.09 B1852 (Public Beta) or newer)
• Updated scenario to DB516.
• Updated USAF aircraft DBIDs for DB516.
• Reworked how air base capacity is handled in the scenario setup menu. It now uses the same values that Command uses, rather than being limited to a select number of Fighters and Large Aircraft. This allows for more flexible deployments. Designer Note: No, I don't understand how these values are calculated either.
• All USAF aircraft now have a built in cap to prevent players from deploying an unrealistic number of airframes. Generally ~30% of the total USAF inventory for each aircraft type is available.
• The individual aircraft in USAF rescue squadron are now displayed on the air base summary tables.
• Expanded the number of bases USAF rescue squadrons can be deployed to.
• A USAF CSAR squadron is no longer deployed automatically to Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. This predated the randomized basing access functionality added in v6.0.0. If CSAR is enabled, you can deploy up to two USAF CSAR squadrons to most bases (if available).
• Added Ben Gurion Airport in Israel as a base for US tankers and support aircraft.
Version 6.0.2 (March 13, 2026):
• Fixed issue with upgrade Iran aircraft "Only Hypothetical Aircraft" option not unchecking other options.
• Some sub-options on the Scenario Settings tab are now hidden until the option is enabled. For example, Upgrade options for the "Upgrade Iranian XX Aircraft" are hidden unless you select to upgrade that category of aircraft.
• Fixed MQ-9As not being deployed.
• Expanded the number of bases that MQ-9As can be deployed to.
Version 6.0.1 (February 28, 2026):
• Fixed E-3G/E-7A deployment error.
• E-3G and E-7As can now be deployed to "off map" bases.
Version 6.0.0 (February 27, 2026):
• Updated scenario to DB515.
• Updated USAF aircraft DBIDs.
• (Re)Merged Iran Strike, 2022 and Iran Strike, 2025 back into a single scenario.
• Merged Scenario Setup and Deployment menus into one menu.
• Changed year selections from specific years to Early 2020s (2018-2022), Mid 2020s (2023-2027), and Late 2020s/Early 2030s (2028-2032). Each represents the range of capabilities within the specified years.
• Added randomized basing access when playing as USA and USA-Israel. Can be toggled off if you don't want to use it. Designer Note: This allows you to simulate the conditions of early 2026 where basing access was denied by most middle eastern countries.
• Replaced static image deployment map with Leaflet interactive map. Huge thank you to Blu3s for providing me a sample code.
• USA and USA-Israel Deployment menus are now popup menus. New menus are much easier to use then the previous side bar menus. Clicking on the unit images will pop up the unit card right on the deployment menu.
• Added Ovda Air Base in Israel as a base for US fighters.
• Added filters to "Unit Cards" tab.
• Updated Unit Cards to match capabilities in DB515.
• Replaced Fordow underground facilities with variant with higher amount of damage points.
• USAF rescue squadrons will now only be visible and deployable if CSAR is enabled.
• Reduced USN rescue forces. If CSAR is enabled, USN rescue helicopters will only be deployed to the first carrier deployed (Harry S Truman) and to the DDGs. If you need the rescue forces from four carriers you have massively messed up…
• Various HTML and Lua optimizations.
