Failure to Communcate with Server

Playing a game and got Failure to communicate with server. Instructed to upload a file with 1538.ini ending, but don't see that file when I try to upload to server.

Odd, do you have a way to search your hard drive to see if it went somewhere else instead? We used to lock down the target save directory but I believe we have now changed to letting people save anywhere. Your current spot may or may not be where this routine decided to park the file.
I'll check it from my end too, to see what I can find. Thanks for reporting this!
BTW, you did such a good job playtesting for us. I remain very appreciative of that....

Whats also strange is the error reappears when I try to exit the scenario and reappears a second time before I can close out. The PBEM game then appears as on My Turn when I reload.
I do have recovery file to upload, just not the ones specified to upload in error message.

I had problems with this scenario I think earlier.
The Slitherine servers are always so shaky I think playing on weekends especially is dangerous.

Tried uploading one of the .ini recovery files and game crashed.
I get a warning in my browser that the matrix servers has a misconfigured certificate. Don't know if that might be related.

sfbaytf said our new game broke as well on turn 10.
I hope the devs could find out what causes Breakaway to not work in pbem.

Sorry the PBEM system is causing problems. I will let Rob know and see if this is on our end or Matrix server side.

A further troubleshooting tip -
Amy time you see the "Logging" tab pop up you should go to it and save the text shown to a TXT file. That file is pure gold for me.

I sent you logging error text. I can clear the log file and play a round and let it error out if that helps.

I'm still working on this. The log file from sfbaytf has good info in it but I'm not seeing a failure in the game, just in the occasional transmission from Matrix to his computer. In particular, a request to the server timed out after 30 seconds. I'm working with Matrix on this.

I'm going to throw more into the mix...
I started using a new VPN provider recently and some apps like DCS doesn't seem to like it. There has been oddities with other apps like dropbox and I had to disable to get things to work, but seems like that was sorted out as I can now access dropbox normally with VPN enabled.
Today I tried looking at privacy setting in Windows and it wouldn't open. I came to conclusion there was probably damaged within windows. I've been using the same setup for about 3 years and over time Windoze can get hosed so I'm in the process of reformatting my disks and installing a fresh version of Windows and re-installing everything including FPSS.
