[WAD][1674] RIM-67C #1661 - inefficient trajectory

I experienced the following and would like to know if it is WAD
The weapon in the subject line (Doctrine as default) fires against subsonic incoming vampire (500 kts @ around 400 ft coming from long distance), first climbs to 40+ K feet and then starts descending on the target but fails to reach the proper altitude on time and incoming projectile proceeds by flying below the interceptor missile. I expended 11 RIM-67C this way with no hits on what one would consider easy targets. Is this normal?
(as I am playing with no saves and it was quite intense, i don't have a save readily available, but if requested I will try and reproduce)
Thanks

What's your beef with uploading saves, really? I've seen you constantly post this, and it's so much easier on the devs and getting a solution for you if you do.

Definitely going to need a save, if this was at maximum range its not surprising or if it lost lock

It is just to remove the temptation to "takeback" moves and replay (as I did when I started to learn the game). Same reason why as a student one goes to the library to study instead of one's room: no videogames in library
Joking aside, I managed to recreate a similar situation in this attachment- Not the one i faced but similar conditions. Observe the attack to Akrotiri CY. One Vampire and one RIM-67C are already in the air but if you let it run more instances will follow. In my run a few hours ago, not even one of 12 RIM-67C hit incoming missiles

When I run your save they do reach the missiles its just they're basically out of energy by then. When they're fired at the closer missiles they have a 50% chance to hit so multiple misses aren't that strange, you're just getting unlucky. On my 2nd run of it all of the missiles were shot down by the RIM-67C's

Good idea.
The game also autosaves into folders (if turned on) named after the scenario you are playing at different increments. Read the manual for details on that one.

I will run some times myself to have a sample of cases. But didn't you notice going first over 40k feet and then decend on subsonic targets at low altitude?
EDIT: I did a few runs and it appears that the 12 launches / 0 hits was a statistical outlier. More close to 40-50% overall
