Unit icons clearly reflect light cavalry uniforms and heavy cavalry uniforms. Do cavalry units have any distinct characteristics such as: light cavalry move an equivalent distance at the same speed with less fatigue & heavy cavalry are more effective in battle?

I think the only distinction is quality. Iirc all cuirassier cavalry sprites are elite, dragoon (or is the second sprite hussar/chasseur) veteran and the third is regular.

Heavy cavalry get a 50% bonus over light cavalry in battle. I should check that number, going from memory.
