Subsystem damage

I need someone to explain to me exactly why the FIRST round in a head to head dogfight invariably takes out my guns?! My hull is stil >95% and my guns went to red in a single shot, not once, not twice, but almost everytime I fly the Thunderbolt! The other fighters are almost never that bad!

Yes, well I'm afraid that that is one of the many reasons that you shouldn't be dogfighting in a Thunderbolt.

Given, but hey, are the guns wrap in tinfoil instead of armor? I've heard the lowest bidder agruement, but seriously [;)]

This is kind of a different sub-system question; but what about cap ship sub-system damage? I feel as though I can beat up on other ships, and never really damage, say, their fusion generator, shield generator, or quantum drive.

Is this something that depends on the angle that we hit it at?

On the other hand, I feel like the computer can sort of pick and choose which subsystems to hit and do a pretty goob job of knocking me around.

Any thoughts?

When you have a ship targetted you can press the ';' (semicolon) key to cycle through subsystems. If you're in a capship you can use the arrows on the weapons panel to cycle through subsystems, also.

As far as 'sensor lock' i think its a warning that an enemy has targeted you, but im not positive.
