Nice to hear that Hawker is Ok. Let's hope you find this one since there are still some Japanese butts to be kicked in Russia! [:D][:D]

Ok, i have a problem. Let's see if someone is able to help me. I've changed my PC 1 month ago. I managed to make a backup of the arriving mail of outlook express file (which is called in italian "posta in arrivo.DBX") it's really big (2 Giga). Now when i try to substitute the new "Posta in arrivo.DBX" file with the old one that has the last turn arrived from Hawker, the pc takes nearly 10 minutes to open Outlook express, but above all...after that..the folder that contains the mail arrived shows nothing....

how can i get those turns back?

Is it the same version of Outlook ? If not you may try on a PC having the same version of your old, and then try to forward the most important mails.

If I remember correctly, the last thing I did that for my father, I had first to "convert the mails from Outlook to Outlook" Express, then export them in a file, copy the file to the new PC, load it in Outlook Express and then "convert it to Outlook". I remember the sequence, but not how I "converted" between Outlook and Express...

Gen, the best to avoid this king of problem is to use a web-based e-mail for WITP (Gmail or another), so you can access your turn anytime. And capacity of 2 Giga is allowing you to keep hundred of turns and so be able to go back to any game.

Ok, i tried to copy the old 2Giga .dbx file on the new 54mega .dbx file again. It takes forever to open outlook express (nearly 10 minutes) and then again it seems that the arriving mail folder is empty. There's nothing in there...it's pretty strange and pretty depressing

Try this:

Or try to import it to another email-program, I can recommend Thunderbird.

Sounds like a corrupted dbx file. [:(] 2gig is quite big, can this be correct?

Oh, and the other program I linked to above works only for address books, sorry 'bout that.

If you haven't already give an eye on Microsoft support, just try it.

no...it works only for the "from now on" problems...however it explains, simply, that the dbx file is damaged and cannot be recovered:-(
Still waiting for Hawker to see if he has backed up better than me....

Searching Google, i found : http://www.nsware.com/Repair-Tool-for-O ... xpress.htm

A trial version is free for 30 days.  All the time needed.

There are others program to fix a corrupted dbx at : http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best ... rrupt.html

It's seams you're not the only one having that problem.

A last word : i'm using thunderbird, so never use any of those programs above, but don't see too much danger in those.
