I dont suppose it is next years McLaren-Mercedes ? Oh sorry , wrong forum, I'll go away now.

not much ground clearance for a manned plane , is it a rocket of sorts...

Nah not a rocket, in fact its performance proved to be a little disappointing.

That's the HAL HF-24 Marut. Good design (by Kurt Tank no less) but let down by inadequate powerplant.
