Request for DL space for mods

John Tiller's Battleground Series is a Hall of Fame lineup of games covering the Civil War and Napoleonic Wars. We've compiled these classic games into two new affordable collections, incorporating updated versions of these legendary titles. Incredible historical gameplay and great value!

Request for DL space for mods

Post by MartNick »

Hi

As indicated by David Heath, is it possible for us to get some DL space for the many BG series mods. I have loads of scenarios that I'm sure others would be keen to try.

Many thanks

Have you tried the Games Depot at Wargamer?

Alvin is right. That is what "Game Depot" at The Wargamer (www.wargamer.com) is for. They also host scenarios etc.

Not for the BG series of games. The file sizes for the maps can be quite large.

I'm sure we can set something up, we're very interested in providing a hub here for BG gamers and creating a permanent repository of all the BG mods and other files seems like a great way to encourage that. Give us a couple of days please, I'll discuss with Dave to see what he had in mind and post here again once we have a plan.

Regards,

In addition to BG mods "and other files," please also add to the central permanent repository a definitive set of URLs, FAQs, Wikis, fora, blogs, etc. where everything BG can be found. A one-stop BG shop, if you will. The Matrix Forum might serve this purpose, but even with stickies stuff can so easily be lost in the posting shuffle. I'm talking about a page or pages, well organized, easily found, with a clearly specified set of downloads, links, etc., perhaps edited to filter out the works-in-progress and anything half-baked.

With the ability to mod the BG system, and with Matrix at least passively supporting the modding community in this way, the BG series has a bright enduring future, even if the core engine is never updated.
