No price has been announced yet, but that hasn't stopped people from guessing. You won't get a price announcement until we are MUCH closer to release.

Maybe its a dream but I can hope Matrix goes forward with Super Top Secret Plan to give a discount for users whose great grand-parents came from Ireland.

Is there any chance that the expansion pack will come with some sort of deal if you get the orginal WITP with the expansion pack? I am going to shout about this to whoever but if people have to pay 50 for the first game and another 70 for the expansion or w/e it may be. While i see everyone here getting it, it will be hard to get someone to buy witp if they have to buy two games basically to get the best version of it. Hard sell really to new owners, though if there was some kind of package so both for 100 or w/e (a slight deal) you might still expand your client base a little... Maybe not idk.[:D]

I really don't care if I have to pony up another $70 for this game.  Considering that I've been playing it for the last 3.5 years almost non-stop, WiTP is the best bargain game (measured in gaminghours/$) I've ever had ....with the possible exception of WIR.[8D]

Most games today give me 40-80 hours of game play --  at most for $50.  For that, WiTP is a bargain.[&o]

so are we talking a one-time investment for new WitP customers at around $150 or more?

I'm curious, how did you come to $150.00? I was unaware pricing for the addOn package had been announced.

Or is this just your personal estimate?

Just an estimate as WitP costs around $70, so double that.

You got to wonder, will this new re-write of the code pave the way for a new UV/WITP game (War in the Med)down the road?

What impresses me is that AE will be made by a cabal of very implicated veteran members of this forum, names that we know and who have demonstrated again and again a loyalty to the community and a love for the game. They are here because they love playing WitP and know its mechanics intimately. They know what currently works and does not work with stock WitP, AND they can change it! It means also, logically, that these posters have and will retain a very privileged access to the source code.

So not only the people who will produce AE and support it with updates and patches are people who have a financial interest in making it work, but also (and especially) a sentimental reason to improve it and make as perfect a wargame as possible. :)

Well, the move to the smaller scale hexes and possible improvements in the ground combat system could help make that much more of a reality

What a very cool time to get a nice job offer. I will soon have a much nicer computer with which to play AE. But will I be home enough to do it?

That makes sense, though some posters sound like they're willing to finance a 2nd mortgage to buy the add-on; after all the drooling on this thread following the Ad Ed annoucement, Matrix must be salivating as well.

[:)] Well ,what do you think , guys?[:)]

Just a few observations:

- Four pages of posts in 24 hrs: is that a forum record? I haven't that many posts so soon since CEaW first came out.

- I wonder if the Ad Ed add-on will work like my Opp Fronts (stand-alone) add-on did w/CoH? Opp Fronts actually combined the two games into one by gutting the original CoH program and then scattering its files all over my hard drive; I had to do some serious defraging afterwards, but it was (probably) worth it despite the increased taxing of my computer's resources. However, I doubt Ad Ed w/be as graphics heavy.

Then again ...
