varjager and hellcat in the Bulge

Post by hellcat »

although this started a while back I'm posting the thread as it's hotting up (even though it's snowing!) Hellcat (that's me) the rather surprised USA, varjager as the German aggressor. The cloud cover is only partial allowing for some air sorties, which varjager put to good use destroying a Jackson right off the bat. I retailiated with some heavy duty firepower onto his arty park and the mobile US managed to install themselves into their battle line fast enough to be able to shoot up the german recon as itapproached. The terrain is a series of hills and the ground is quite rough with plenty of frozen forest. All was going quite well until German gliders began to land and they have killed my AO (as payment for the two AOs I killed earlier this week no doubt!) and are even now shooting up my arty. This is set to be a hell of a clash... more as it happens!

Hellcat, your Fighter bombers are the thing causing my losses. But my FJ is hurting some of your arty and keeping you bussy in the rear.On P-51 goes down in flame. But losses are high on my recon units. But suprises are moving forward.

we're still clearing up the back yard from the Glider landing and spec ops teams... a group of panthers are moving towards us in the North but so far our line has held.

German air attacks have destroyed a couple of my wolverines

However, we took out 3 panthers in the Northern sector this turn along with some support AA vehicles.

No sign of any German advance along our lines elsewhere, we're still flushing Fjs out of the woods in our rear sector.

the line holds! 2 more panthers have been taken out as well as some more support and SS units. Behind the line we've been mopping up spec ups and hopefully the last of the FJs...

Behind his lines, a keen eyed Ranger spotted reinforcements coming on, promptly assaulted a JpzIV and then called in the thunder onto the position with devastating results ! :)

I know varjager has been busy with his moving house so I'm not talking to myself here, really!

His King Tigers have taken up position in the centre and are posing something of a problem for me, especially as they just took out a wolverine and a Jackson. He has at least 2 other panthers as well the surviving Jpzivs from his reinforcements...

It seems there is still quite a battle to fight!

News from the front:All this propaganda from the west is causing us to reply. We have hade some minor losses so far. This talk from the allies that we have lossed alot of Panthers is nothing but propaganda. We are advancing but we have just adjusted to the AT menace that the Bazooka crews poses. We are expecting a breakthrue any hour now.Ths Fj died as heroes in there struggle for the Fatherland. One of our King Tigers knocked out a Jumbo on the way to important hill in the middle! This is a hard job but someone have to do it!

Long live The Reich!

slow progress

despite all our recent gains, this was a bad turn. A couple of Brummbaers are now the latest targets for us, as well as the panther(s?) that remain and jpzivs... we are preparing for a final push!

I am fighting in the snow again... We have killed another panther and two of those horrendous sturmtigers. The Germans are fighting like they won't surrender but would rather face death in the freezing snow... we have even engaged and destroyed a bicycle unit so they must surely be almost beat...
