Russia economy is too strong at the start.

Commander – Napoleon at War is the second in a series of high level turn based strategy games. It spans the Napoleonic Wars from 1805 to 1815, allowing players to control France or the Coalitions against it through the entire period or in shorter scenarios. Easy to learn, with fun and addictive gameplay, this is a Napoleonic wargame in the style of the old "Panzer General".

I am not a great wargamer and I know this is new, but I think it is impossible for France to win in Multi-player. All you do is delay them 1-2 turns (which is easy) and overwhelm them with Russians.

Maybe turn down Russia's % war effort to like 10% until Austria is defeated, then ratchet up to 100%.

I am aware that I could really be missing something.

Matto, no way.

If you want, we can restart and I can play either side. I have been experimenting since yesterday. Maybe I can think of some way to goof around.

I am in another PBEM and I am France, I am trying every trick in the book to get around the Austrians. I just do not see how it is possible to fight off the Russians. They are all over the place by turn 2 and 3 with endless manpower and an economy to replace any losses and create new units.

As I originally posted, I really feel like the Russians need to be turned down. Maybe allow them no rail into Austria for 5 turns, or my idea about turning down the economy to 10% until Austria is defeated.

If I am missing something, challenge me with me being Coalition, and if I lose, I will stop posting. You stop that initial French Rush into Austria and its game over by turn 6-8.

PBEM

Any takers on me being Coalition?  Whomever takes France will always lose, so this is my brief window of opportunity to feel like I am a decent wargamer.

Not trying to be too highly annoying, the campaign needs to be balanced a lot to help the French.  A combination of the following would help; a) keep Russia out of Austria for 5 turns, b) give France a better shot at surviving the Gibralter Naval fiasco, c) give France 4 or 5 strategic movement, d) do not give Prussia two capitals {no way you can reach way back towards Russia to get that other capital).., all of these combined would help, even then it would hard for France to win.  As more people PBEM, you will see how things are incredibly stacked against the French.
