Turn 1

Post by Easy8 »

My opening harrassment barrages seem to have pi**ed Ivan off!

IS-3's and T-44's are through my front lines already, scattering infantry in their path!

Hade's killed a Hetzer and a Panther G while my return fire bounced harmlessly off of those monsters.

I immobilized an IS-3, killed a SU M17 with a Hetzer.

Flambed the 2 lead IS-3's with a Flampanzer 38:cool:

He counterbatteried my arty parks with 160mm and 120mm steel rain:mad:

Didn't expect such a quick response. Time to load 'em up and bug out.

IS-3 can be hurt by something! WOW! I didn't except that. my troops were sheeled but luckly most of it missed. I think I might have advanced a little to fast, since there are Hetzlers everywhere. Not to metion flame tanks. But on the other hand, an enterprising IS-3 crew fired their 12.7mm gun at the storage tank on one of those flamers and well, boom.;)

Yikes!!!

Vis 5, heavy forest - I expected a knife fight and that's what I got:mad:

Just like a Russian to bring a steamroller to knife fight!

Too bad I couldn't get the Panther Uhu's released to my sector.

Armor losses are heavy on both sides, as Hetzers and Flammas swarm the T-44's and IS-3's at point blank range.

This one's definately gonna go to the last man standing.

Easy8 - Easy sez "8Ball's got his self stuck in a meat grinder"

P.S. Nice shot with 12.7mm AAMG - I've only seen that happen 3 times in hundreds of games:eek:

alright we are back in action. After massive arty barrages from both sides my troops cowered while taking potshots at Haztlers and Flammpanzers. And yet another Flammpanzer bites the dust due to a 12.7mm. Tell you, you got to watch out for those IS-3s.

Russian tanks continue to push my infantry back all along the front. The main action has centered around the small village, on the main east-west road, just inside of my lines, Blazing hulks of Is-3's, Panthers, and Flamme 38's line road.

2 more T-44's flambeed near the north central victory hexes and another near the south centrals.

I lost another Hetzer to a captured panzerfaust and a Panther took a direct hit from a 120mm mortar shell.

This has turned from a battle into a contest to see who has the most tanks left. I lost another T-44 while destroying a Falmmpanzer. I wonder how many he bought. I thought at least a company at first but now I think I underesitmated. Finaly our infantry engaged each other with my Guards wiping out a squad and mauling anouther. Be warned Nazi scum, the Red Banner never faulters!!! To the bitter END!

To the bitter end indeed!

Germany has her back to the wall!

We fight desperately to defend the Fatherland!

To the death!

More tanks and men thrown into the meatgrinder.

4 more T-44's killed, 3 by FlammPanzer 38's and 1 by a Hetzer from the flank.

The cost, 2 FlammPanzers and an Elefant.

Seesaw infantry skirmishing along the line.

More steel death rains from skies, killing friend and foe alike.

Heavy artillery fire on both sides.

The action is slowing down as everyone tries to find cover from the hellish pounding.

Colonel!! Our mortor men are being slaughtered!! Too bad they are too heavy to displace. Well sir, when we break through we'll show thier arty commanders some Russian hospitality. Its seems that one of our remaining tanks groups might have broken through. Good, tell all remaining units to head from that point. Yes, sir. We'll force these Krauts back to Berlin.

The Russians desperately push eastward. A lone T-44 breaks theough our lines. Halftracks idling in the rear area are sent to find it. We spot it in a small clearing and the steel beast fires short, as the track slews right and back into the safety of the dense wood. The T-44 traverses its turret to the rear and bounces a shell of the thick frontal armor of an advancing FlammePanzer. Another FlammePanzer advances form the front side. The turret spins an 85mm shell goes wide. A gout of flame erupts into the engine compartment. The huge beast erupts into an inferno of burning fuel and exploding ammunition.

We finish off an immobilized IS-3 and a T-44 that was trapped inside a ring of Hetzers and FlammePanzers. All infantry and tank crews sighted are wiped out to a man or sent fleeing back into the woods.

Not a Russian unit in sight at the end of the turn.

Stalin's hammers continue to pound us but we answer with more of our own.

We kill a 120mm mortar and several infantry sections as we breakthrough enemy lines.

Heavy artillery fire rains down on both sides.

We advanced our reinforcements too kill as many Krauts as possible before we die. Stalin himself, as ordered a relief force sent out to rescue us but we fear it wont get here in time. It will have to continue the battle against the Nazis. I sent more arty in. Laughable results. Too bad. Overall this minor battle was a trap to draw the Panzer armies into a pocket of Commies. I was ordered to lose.

We spot another Juggernaut, this time a JS 152. Sgt. Heinz inches his Elefant over the ridge and fires once. The 88mm shell impacts the turret and the crew bails out

In other action, a anti-tank infantryman is rooted out of hiding in the Village and summarialy executed. A sniper creeps into position an open up on 120mm mortar squad while a light assault gun strafes it with machine gun fire.

This has turned into a toe to toe slugging match.

I kill a 160mm mortar unit and lose 2 Flamme38's as his juggernauts shrug off shot after shot:mad:

Two turns have passed since the last report. We kill more of the juggernauts and continue our advance. Losses heavy on both sides.
