Looking for a 2 vs 2 (or3) game (Closed)

Post by Barb »

Hi,

I am preliminary looking for players dedicated to play the grand campaign to the (bitter) end.

I am interested in playing multiplayer campaign game for a long time, but I was waiting for AE to come out and now waiting for patch no2.

I am fairly skilled and higly motivated allied player with experience begining with UV, then WITP - I played three PBEMs until now, unfortunately all of them come to the end when my oponents quit unsuspectedly. I also can take a place on Japanese side with someone more skilled with economy :)

Biggest advantages I see in 2 vs 2 game are:
1. if one of the player drops out (temporarily or definitely) the other is able to continue with the game
2. divided command responsibilities (as to exact dividing this should be a matter of debate).
3. communication

As it stands now, there are two possible Japanese players and me. So if there is anyone who would like to join me to kick the rising sun right back under the horizon, let me know [:D]

Playing a team game seems interesting, but I'm not sure if you want to get stuck with me. I'm new to this game, haven't got far in my game against AI and am currently playing one other PBEM match. How would you like to divide commands ? By theatre, country or branch of armed services ?

Well if you can PM me your experiences, what do you think about the game, you are sure you can take a PBEM and a multiplayer game in the same time (I am planning to do it myself), and what is the "driver" that forces you to commit to a game that could last 4 and more years to play without quitting prematurely, maybe we will make out something.

As to command division, I am not absolutely resolved on this. This should be inter-allied debate and it will depends if there will be two or three of us in that camp. My basic vision it theathre based (Nimitz, MacArthur, Mountbatten, and China and Russia as bonus, maybe the DEI as well).

I like the idea that you propose and would be interested if your still looking.

I play and post for fun...nothing stated ever carries with it the thought to irritate. If something does...privately PM and I will review.

Barb,

the bitter end is my favorite part. Either side if you are still looking at teams.

I have the patience.. I love to discuss things and strategy. It is not easy to write a loooooong e-mail in foreign language, but at least I try to :D
Smeulders is also in the game (how could I forget to mention him? [:@]) on the allied side. So at least we will be playing 2vs2.

Combined command is such a wonderfull thing - guctony is overlyagressive and I am overly cautous... meeting in the middle should give us the right balance. So our allied enemies had something to look for in this game :)

UH :D Maybe.. depends on lot of things... Girlfriend, Work, Family, you know.. the Real life stuff [;)]

However now I am doing nice e-mail conversations with guctony, that should be used for the AAR. There are some bright and other still brighter ideas [:D]

I will also work on war and theather directives and operational plans in word/excel type documents for our use. But maybe we could post them from time to time into the AAR. But we certainly cant begin our AAR outlining our general strategy for the whole war [;)]

How do 2v2 and others of that ilk work?   Does one player do part of a turn and send it to the other player on thier side who does their part, then it gets sent to the opponent?

Yes. If the players are in the proper time zones, you can do a turn per day. I played a 2x2 for 4-5 months( our opponents conceited the game to us) and we maintained a turn per day most of the time.
