It´s out now!

Armada 2526 continues the great tradition of space opera games. You guide your race from its first interstellar journeys, until it becomes a mighty galactic empire. Along the way, you'll explore the galaxy, conduct research, diplomacy and trade, found new colonies, maneuver mighty star fleets, and fight epic battles.

Few turns? I thought this game is real time?

Larry,

Only the tactical space battles are real-time. The strategic game itself is turn-based.

Erik;

You're fast. Oh, I had it backwards. Now it really is to my liking. I'm going to purchase it, no doubt, but the thrill of the hunt needs to last a bit longer. The holidays can only support so many presents this year so I am milking it for all it's worth. [;)]

Thanks Erik.

EDIT: I finished downloading the game, but I got an error message when I tried to install it:

"Archive integrity check failed. The setup file is not copmlete, possibly due to an incomplete download or corrupted file."

I should note I didn't purchase the extended download option. Would that be the reason why it's telling me this?

Worst case... you download it again. I suspect the "extended download" option is similar to the extended warranty that stores such as Best Buy offer... it's something that you'll probably never need.

I purchased an extended warranty for my cell phone eight years ago specifically to replace the battery. Of course, the warranty has long expired and the phone still has the original battery.

Nope, that means the download was either corrupted druring transfer or incomplete. The extended download just means that you can re-download any game you buy for as long as we exist. Without that, you can still re-download up to a year after your purchase. So when you get home, go to www.findmyorder.com with your order info and you can get a new download link and re-download. You may need to delete your temporary internet files to make sure you get a clean re-download.

To add a physical shipment it's an extra $10 PLUS another extra $10.85. That seems unreasonable. I can simply go to Gamestop and get it for $39.99; that saves me the extra $20.85. I'm baffled by these Matrix Games prices and fees. I will call my local Gamestop to see if it's in. I can wait for them to order it if it's not in.

Some might say I can just get the download for $39.99. I prefer to have a disk(a box is cool too) for replaying insurance in the future.

Posting your order number in public is not the best idea. Also, you posted three times on this in three different threads. That's considered spamming. Please keep your posts on this subject to the new thread you created on this, where I also replied.

Okay. My three posts were related to the topic of the the three threads; others posted on other topics with similiar responses in more than one thread. (Yeah, I noticed it also deleted from thread: 'Armada 2526 Now Available from Matrix Games!') /smirk. I understand that you want little negativity discussed about your products. Being an open minded host to potential customers is different than being a boss to employees.

Also, that would have been my order number...had the price not included an extra $20 dollars. I did not continue with the purchase thus it did not become my order number.

Odd way to talk to perspective customers. Also, odd pricing to customers. Other companies include a physical copy with a download at no EXTRA charge.

People might start saying I am trying to argue. I am just responding. I thank you for your responses and I am still watching this game. I hope it succeeds and that we all have fun playing it.

You actually made four posts, including a post in response to our general annoucement of the game's release with the same info. I deleted that one as I'd already responded to three others. I'm not trying to be rude here, but you should realize that responding in multiple threads with exactly the same post is considered very poor forum etiquette and in fact in some forums it would get you a far more stern response. It's like sending someone the same exact e-mail four times in a row on purpose, it becomes spamming.

It's worth mentioning that when we started offering downloads in 2003, we set the download price at $10 below our established physical prices. We offer a physical + digital option that is the same as the physical only price and we offer the download only version for $10 less. Other companies may just skip the download only option and set their pricing based on the physical + digital, but I can assure you that at some point someone is paying for the extra box, shipping and packaging, whether they are up front about it or nt.

In my case:

1: Buy it from GS, to which we add sales tax, time to drive there and back, all for the sake of having a box which 9 times out of 10 I throw away anyhow. (And no store in 100 miles has it anyway.)

2: D/L from here, paying the list price w/o tax, or time wasting. And burn it to a DVD.

3: Hope they come to Lancaster PA in August and buy it there. Which is how I bought WitP and Starshatter.

Looks like #2.
