Funnily enough the small stove heats it up quite nicely - but when its down to -7 C like the other night you dont want it going out in the night! I must admit I am going through some coal the last few days! Its my first winter and its proving quite "interesting" !
RE: Not the best photos...
Apparently you must like the snow!!! That's one of the reasons that we moved from Ohio to Florida. To get away from it....

I give up. What is a "Gritter"?
We went to the Highlander Cafe for coffee and a scone. Had a neat conversation with Colin McPherson, the owner. Listening to him talk with his Scottish accent was well worth the price! Of course I'm more sure now that our Great Countries are separated by a "Common Language.....[;)]

This is a gritter - spreads grit on the roads. Glad I found the pic on the web really, as it's been quite some time since I last saw a real one!

Up North we have dump trucks with snow plows on the front and the bed is filled with salt. Salt melts the snow and rust's your cars... and generally make a mess of everything!

You guys who live somewhere that does not normally get buried in snow are cute. Your fascination with the stuff is endearing.
Me? It's been below zero degrees(F) for about a week now(during the day!), and we've had snow on the ground since late October.
I could use a couple of weeks in Tahiti right about now!

I know what you mean...but it is a nice change for us. It does wear off pretty quickly though.

As long as the storms are on the weekend (which they've been so far).. I don't mind!.. lol I'm sure my kids prefer during the week so that school will get cancelled!
RE: Not the best photos...
I love fresh snow! Always reminds me of great skiing, warm women and cold beer!
Was in Japan last February - had heavy snow and great powder skiing!
To all and sundry, what is the skiing like in you're local area at the moment? Holidays in February beckon!

RE: Not the best photos...
I couldn't possibly live in a constant season. When I was in Cyprus in June 88, when the rain came in November we were all dancing outside - it was absolutely bliss.
I need variable seasons. I like the warm, I like the snow, I love the rain but I can't have too much of either - I need change!

Hey Judge - It's Morham the we village in East Lothian where I live. we were snowed in for most of the festive season [:D] Type in Morham in Google Earth, my houise is second from right [:D]
1. road out of villagem the hill in in the distance is Traprain Law
2. My twin girls Catriona on the left and Jenny on the right. Yoo can just make out Morham in the distance nect to Jennys elbow.
3. View from my back garden is panoramic, we are very exposed up here on top of the hill [:D]
These piccies were taken the day before the ones in my previous post.

You can tell it's windy by the lean on the trees! [:D]
And it does make me homesick. I'd love to come back to Scotland, but the wife wants to live down here by her family.
I've told her though...when I retire, I'm going to live in Scotland...she's welcome to join me [:'(]
